hi
thanks for all ur comments, i dont mind dl at night its just with my 1mb connection id like to dl during peak times as well without and extras being paid at the end of the month for doing so. I take it bt's deal of unlimited dl for £13 ish pound is good but bad company? Can i ask whats
bad about BT especiallas i only get 1mb where im at?0 -
As you only get 1Mbps then it may not matter.
BT's offshore support is a thing of legend matched only by Virgin's - if all stays well that may not matter but a 1Mbps line is a long line with lots of joints any of which could develop a fault.
The reason BT are able to offer unlimited is because they use traffic shaping to reduce the speed of P2P and newsgroup downloading. I'm not sure if they also penalise large downloads using other protocols but they might. If that doesn't matter to you either and you are feeling lucky then go with BT but IMO their minimum contract term is quite long - probably for a reason.....0
