Anyone used Eclipse Internet?

As we speak my speed is just 1M for £24.00 per month and eclipse REFUSE to do anything about it.0

I don't think it is a case of Eclipse refusing to do anything about it, their hands are tied by BT Openreach unfortunately.
I have recently left Eclipse because my speeds were too variable (probably due to contention somewhere), one hour they could be giving a throughput of 30kb/s and the next 750kb/s, according to DU Meter they even peaked at 1.09mb/s (yes that's bytes not bits).
Before I went back to them I'd had a constant 600-750 with BT and now I have moved away I am back to the constant speeds.
I would still recommend Eclipse, I think they are a very good ISP and many of my friends and family are still with Eclipse, they always comment how happy they are with the service and support, it just wasn't working for me the way I personally wanted it.
I would purchase a router outright if I was you and then connect with them on a monthly package, rather than taking their router (value under £50 on some sites), and being tied into a years contract, just in case you weren't happy with them!
I would avoid BT and their Hub like the plague after the experiences I had with them (search for my posts in this forum, it's well documented).
Best of luck in your search!0 -
My daughter uses Eclypse and is quite happy with it as well>0

I've used Eclipse for years and I've been quite happy. When I experienced performance problems, I upgraded and that resolved it.0

Interesting thread.
I've been toying with the idea of moving to either Eclipse or Nildram for some time (purely for cost reasons), but every time I look around, when you consider that I get very good newsgroup access along with a very stable connection and a 2Mb d/l speed, there isn't anyone who offers a service comparable to my current provider (Zen Internet).
Grateful if people would report on what the Eclipse or Nildram newsgroup access is like.

I was set up with my last company, I didn't think much to the email. When I left the company I kept with Eclipse co it was easier than transferring and I was getting bet 7 - 8 mbps, but lately the line is constantly dropping off and the speed has gone right down, it's 2.6 at the moment but yest it was 0.5, so I'm thinking about moving to another ISP, what's the point of paying £14.99 if you are not getting the speed0

I'd recommend looking at the results on adslguide.org. I spent a few evenings pondering before going for IDnet who have turned out to be fast and reliable, though not cheap. £18 per month for 8MB/s and 2GB limit and £1 per GB after that.Happy chappy0
