Anyone used Eclipse Internet?

Hello
I am mulling over whether or not to move from current broadband ISP (Pipex). i.e. i probably will but haven't decided who to yet
The first one that springs to mind was BT, with their fancy hub, their option 2 deal would suit best £15pm x 3 months, then £23 for the next 9). However, i was all set to go with that, before reading somewhere about "eclipse".
The thinkbroadband site doesn't have much recent info in their !news" section, (not checked their forums yet) but they have been nominated for one of their annual awards, so i figured they can't be too bad.
Also, the option that interests me is £19pm, with a free wireless router - i'm also mulling about my wireless options.
I was wondering whther people had any experience of the eclipse service (either customer or technical).
Thanks

WE use eclipse at home and I use them at work and have been very happy with them (and I'm not easily pleased, believe me).0

Thanks for that.
I had a quick browse of the forums of "thinkbroadband" and it wasn't an encouraging sign!i understand people that are unhapy tend to shoout louder but there seemed to be more shouters than praisers.
I also think every isp must have some unhappy customers - so all in all i am more confused than when i started
Does it matter whereabouts in the country you are, regarding speeds etc0 -
I use Eclipse and have also picked them as our ISP at work. Eclipse used to be fantastic, great speed and continual investment in infrastructure. Since Kingston have taken them over they have gone significantly down hill. Looking to move the works account as the email is SO unreliable it is untrue (apparently it is a network wide problem they are orking on, they've been working on it for AGES!)
Tried tech support residential for the first time tonight, help was top notch BUT it took half an hour for them to answer the phone!!!!!!! When do they think residential customers will ring them, office hours?????
IMHO Eclipse are well past their sell buy date and things are getting steadily worse and they certainly aren't cheap. I've been with them for three years now but I am looking to get out.0 -
My story is almost identical to that of Big Mike's. From being one of the best ISP's around they have slipped quite significantly and the connection speeds I am gettiing are appalling. They promise upto 8M, my exchange can do 5M but I have only being getting between 1 and 2.5M.
I have tried to talk to their technical support team, but they say there is nothing that they can do and BT will not check anything out because the speeds are with limit. I pay £24 per month and yesterday one of their technical support staff refused my request to report my 1M speed.
I asked if they were in breach of contract and the reply was ' we offer UP TO 8M'.
I have been left in a corner with nowhere to go other than to move isp with all the complications of chnaging e-mail addresses etc.
Once a brilliant company, but not any more.
Note : 10 minutes after spealing to Eclipse my speed went up to nearly 4m ( the highest that it has been for sometime), where it stayed for few hours. Back down again today. Coincidence or intervention?0 -
I use eclipse at home and most of the time it is OK. I wouldn't like to rely on it for a work connection though. The email is especially slow. It takes ages to authenticate and sometimes just doesn't work at all. I'm quite lucky that I don't regularly use those email addresses. Having read their status pages, I am aware that the mail server is undergoing and upgrade, but it has been slow for about the last 6 months. Sunday afternoons, the connection speed can be really slow.0

i'm not an eclipse user, but what i see in papers are excellent value for money, also static ip is definitely a bonus in this always connected location free world0

I used Eclipse until very recently and had no problems at all0

Has anyone tried using http://www.speedtest.net/. Interesting results and they matched up with the results that Eclipse gave me yesterday.
Just click on yellow pyramid(london and wait for results.0 -
