Feel rough today
I think I've caught the stomach flu that my BF had over Christmas. Going to take it easy today and do lots of revision and maybe a little Clickworker/Swagbucks if I can.
Got a crazy idea that I could polish up a story I wrote before Christmas and put it on Amazon for download on Kindle. Possibly just an extreme procrastination technique though XD£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January0 -
Well my polishes sold for £12.99 on ebay! Now I just need to get payment and I can send them over to Canada!
Going to keep an eye on my Boots and wait until they have them on offer again, if I can get them on 3 for 2 or BOGOF and sell them for a similar price again then it's definitely worth the hassle£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January0 -
Just applied for a job in my uni town - not sure they'll even give me the time of day as I don't speak Welsh but hey! It's at the 24 hour shop which is literally right around the corner from my house so it would be so, so convenient, and as it's 24 hours I'm presuming it's quite flexible on hours too! Fingers crossed
Feeling rough again today, not sure what's upBeen feeling sick and dizzy all day. It's really not easy to revise or write an essay when you can't move your head! But alas, it needs to be done.

Well they emailed me back and asked if I could do an interview today - I'm not back at uni until Saturday so I told them that and I've heard nothing else
So guess that's a non event.

Still nothing - the job market in my uni town is so, so small that there will undoubtably have been at least a dozen other applicants with the same experience as me who could interview when they wanted so I'm definitely out
Meh. Just another reason why I can't wait to leave the sodding place!
Been on a bit of a spending bingeFive nail varnishes (£20), coffee (£4), a new calendar (£1.50) in the last few days...
I think it's cos I'm worrying about my exam next week and going back to uni, I'm struggling with the revision which is getting me down. For the first time in about a year yesterday I woke up with anxiety and just couldn't get myself out of bed

Right, I'm setting myself a challenge.
Before I left for uni, my parents/grandparents/relatives gave me my christmas money - £90. I'm going to put £10 each on the gas and electric meters, then challenge myself to live off of £20 a week or less until March (I know there's a small short fall here but I shall make it up from my bank account). I also need to start selling off more nail varnishes and toiletries as I am swamped with them, half of them I don't like and won't use, and they're just gathering dust when they could be money in my pocket.
One thing that will help is that I'm going vegetarian! As of February the first, I will no longer eat meat. I'm finishing up the meat I have in the freezer as well as I can right now but any I don't eat will be taken by my housemates. The one exception to this is when my BF comes across because I have two rump steaks in the freezer with our names on itI'm doing this largely for the financial reasons; it's going to be far easier to survive on £20 a week if I don't have to spend £10 of it on meat!
Got my first lecture of the semester today, it's my last first lecture ever! I'm really looking forward to my modules this year, I'm doing consumer psych and applied behavioural analysis. Consumer looks really interesting (and may even help me with money saving as it's focused on spending behaviours!) and ABA is a field that I've been interested in since the start of my degree so to be able to study it in lots of depth is great. I have a dissertation to write this semester that I haven't started testing for yetso that's very stressful but the bottom line is that in 5 months time, I will no longer be a student and will be looking for a full time serious job so I need to make the most of my last few months here.
Hope everyone is well!£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January0 -
I didn't get that job in the end. I have now graduated though - with a high 2:2, entirely my fault it's not a 2:1 and I'm so annoyed at myself as it could've so easily been a better grade. All through uni I stubbornly struggled alone with my mental health and didn't ask for any help which meant two assignments were handed in late and capped at 40%. If I had handed them in on time they would've been awarded 57% and 65% and I would've got a mid 2:1 as they were a large part of each module... But hey, hindsight.
I live with my boyfriend now back in my home town and I have a job yay! It's full time, scanning documents and files for a local hospital. Not glamorous, not exciting and not fun but it's good pay and it's a start in the NHS which is where I want to go. My five year plan now is to find an occupational therapy assistant post in the next year or so, move into that and go back to uni to become a qualified OT by the time I'm 28. My boyfriend is looking at going back to college which is honestly terrifying especially as money is tight right now anyway but it should all be worth it hopefully.
I'm looking to start driving again soon as I currently get a bus every morning meaning 10 hour days and it's so tiring! Luckily it is free but occasionally it doesn't appear (like it didn't this morning... sigh). My journey time will be more than halved if I can drive myself in.£2023 in 2023 challenge - £17.79 January0
