Hi Alice,
Great diary & well done with the sky deal. Must try that myself tomorrowPay off £14,000 in 2012 Challenge #21 (incl. mort.) £15,960/£14,0000 -
Thank you wot-a-mess well worth a phone call.
We sold one piece of furniture tonight which is great, I will put the other piece back in the local paper again this week.
Instead of this morning I have had an ebay evening, I've just spent and hour and half putting all sorts on ebay, a lot of it brand new so fingers crossed.
We need to have an update on our finances tomorrow night and I need to speak to the car finance people too. Plus OH car insurance is due this week so need to have a shop a round. OH just got 3 points for speeding and we'd like to put my son on OH insurance whilst he learns to drive, we will see.
Can't believe it's been 7 days since I started this diary, what a difference this sunday night compared to last week, although I was that upset it's not difficult to feel happier.
I'm aiming to have another good week with my weight, i have a whole new wardrobe waiting for me...........I've just got to fit into it

Well what an evening..........had taken the dog to dog training (which is my chill out time and only cost £1) only to fall over her, don't ask how as she is german shepherd/collie so not the smallest dog in the world!!! Now I am propped up on the sofa with a packet of frozen peas on my knee which is extremely painful. Not sure what I've done but it don't 'alf hurt
Never mind I will soldier on, me and OH are just about to check out his car insurance and update our finances......which also could be very painful too. xxDMP with CCCS started Jan12 £34,906 Jan13 £31,893 Jan14 £26,836 Jan15 £21,894 Jan16 £16,839 Jan17 £14,415 Jan19 £12,938ish Jan19 £9,649 Jan20 £6612 Feb 21 0 Self managed from Jan'17

Alice, your dog must have been mortified with you
What tactics did you use with SKYPay off £14,000 in 2012 Challenge #21 (incl. mort.) £15,960/£14,0000 -
wot-a-mess she just gave me 'that' look and I'm sure she shook her head and tutted!!!
With regards to Sky I went straight throught to the 'cancel' option and in my bestest nicest sweet voice said that unfortunately I was looking to cancel Sky due to the cost. They guy said that Sky did not want to lose my custom so he would see what he could do.........they did offer £5 at first but i just said that sorry that wasn't enought for me to stay with them so the he offered £15. Worth a call, good luck.
Didn't get chance to update finances last night but did get some better prices for OH car insurance, will see if his current insurer can do a bit better or match it tonight.
Have just checked ebay stuff, got loads of watchers just need some bids!!!!!

Just updated finances - bank balance £121, OH gets paid on Thursday £250, but have got to do manual payment for car £213 and loan £188, plus still owe CC's £50 and £150 for this month. Plus petrol........:(
Roll on the end of the month when we can start again and I aim to be able to account for every penny. Feel like i'm on a game of snakes and ladders, with far too many snakes.

Alice, I've come to the conclusion that debt-busting is a bit of a war of attrition that is gonna have many tests for all of us debt-busters. I don't think it'll be all plain sailing -far from it, but for me the most important thing has probably been a change of mindset plus budgeting has helped big time. I think if we stopped everything totally it would be ok for a short while then boredom would see us back to the bad old ways. I'm defo taking a balanced approach. i.e trying to clear the debt but still living a wee bit. My debt is pretty bad but instead of looking at the total debt i'm tending to focus on smaller goals & achievements. Best of luck.Pay off £14,000 in 2012 Challenge #21 (incl. mort.) £15,960/£14,0000

Wot-a-mess so true, and like you say we have still got to live!!
I get this guilty feeling, then I get mad with myself (and OH for not stopping us from getting into this situation), then I start to feel sorry for myself, then pick myself up and go again. What an emotional roller coaster.
Off to call the car finance people, fingers crossed they are understanding.

Alice, dont be so hard on yurself you are taking control and moving in a positive direction, good luck with the call to the finace people and if you are getting insurance quotes Martins email had an item about getting quotes from Tesco for additional club card points, without taking the policy?? Alice, you are doing great :T so don't beat yourself up over what you owe and to whom. The IMPORTANT thing is you are now taking control of the situation and making informed decisions about how much you spend and upon what it is spent.
As they say "Rome was not built in a day" nor will you pay off your debts in one month either.
So, gain strength from all the "Little Victories" you are achieving and you'll soon look back and realise that your debt is going down, bit by bit, month by month.
Good Luck,,,and Keep Going!!!!DFW'er - Lightbulb moment : 31st July 2009 - £18,499
