Hi Alice...yes I know what you mean about teenagers. I am pretty lucky with mine but I know there is a whole online world out there as well as a RL one that is usually completely alien to parents and carers..

Cmon yes you can do it....baby steps. How about some F&F offers?

    Have a good week xx

  • Today will be a NSD, number 2.

Last night had to call into @ldi to do a shop for snacks and lunch stuff. Spent £15. Also I paid for Januarys childcare.

brizzle - F&F offers, hmmm I'm still thinking that if we've had the money, then we should pay it all back, every penny. If I do F&F then will I always think that I owe money. :o:(

Complete Carp my darling. Do the F&F offers...you're already paying your dues. If you get a result and they bite, then save up the amount you have saved and spend it on those amazing DC of yours or even put it aside for a holiday.

You know Brizzle knows best ;):D (or else EE will put me right as the expert on this kinda thing :D))

I think you mean me :rotfl:

I agree with you brizzle, I expect Alice has paid thousands in interest over the years and if she was to go back to the start of her credit card she would see that she has paid off everything she has ever brought and actually its all interest now.
It would be like having a 0% credit card.

I definitely think full and finals are the way to go, you have been slogging at these debts for years so if you can it would be nice to get them finished and then you can enjoy a debt free life.
  • Thanks brizzle and EE. I just find it so difficult, I know you've both right, it make sense. :o

On the money front OH had an update from C@pital . The figure we had was just £5 out. Balance is £2565, we are paying off £5 per month at the moment.

We are up to 4 NSDs. But today will need to get petrol in both, top up shop and I'm out at lunchtime today (max spend £8).

I also need to start paying towards school trip, and build up emergency fund. The £10 that's in the EF at the moment won't go very far.:(

  • We've had our annual mortgage statement today, £42,530.00 left to pay, 7 years left to do it.:D

As I'd eaten out at lunchtime today and wasn't that hungry, everyone else had chippy tea tonight. We didn't have any takeaways or fast food in the whole of January so going to try and keep them to a minimum, almost like a treat. Or unless I'm just that shattered and can't be bothered to cook.:rotfl::o

Tomorrow, weather permitting DSs footie match is miles away. DL has been going to rugby training on a Sunday but that's cancelled this week, so saves a few pounds.

Got petrol today in both cars, spent £55.

That is great news about your mortgage!
  • Thank you debtaghh. It doesn't seem that long ago we had £80K left to pay. All going in the right direction. :)

It's a great pegging out day out there folks. I've got 3 loads out on the line, towels, sheets and two big coats all drying nicely. Love it.:D

I've done the meter readings, we are -£66.27. I knew we had had the heating on a lot more. Although our DL is family I don't want him to feel uncomfortable......our own kids love it. Lol. (Don't have it on excessively but just a bit extra :) )

Got the windows open, a lovely fresh breeze coming through. Homework done (phew!), half way through the housework.

Yesterday we spent £81 on food and pet stuff. We've been buying the cat litter in bulk. I think it's been helping to save some money. Also purchased some photo frames and a picture. Spent £13. Spent £2 at sports club.
