  • Well Sunday morning already! Friday we ended up having a chippy tea, not planned but had a family emergency and had to help out.

Yesterday we were out most of the day, although I did peg out 2 loads in the morning and the weather stayed dry all day.:). Took a packed lunch and didn't have to pay for parking as the ticket machine was broken......NSD4.

Today I've got another 2 loads pegged out. We are out agin this afternoon, will have to pay entry fee and parking.......unless we are lucky again.;)

Have done meter readings this morning, we have used £31 over the last 2 weeks but we are only £4.10 in credit to last until 28th when DD is paid. I reckon they are going to put our payments back up, I noticed next bill is due 17th September.

Will need to get cash out later for child minding next week.:(

  • Managed to get the washing dry today. Have just gone to iron it and the iron has packed up half way through. What is it with irons and tin openers.........I can't make either last very long.:o

A bit off a spendy day, parking, entry fee and ice creams all round and DS2 had a burger as he was starving!!- £17.

Have got cash for child care next week. Bank account looking a bit bleak.:(

Will try the iron again tomorrow just to check.

Hope everybody has a good week.:)

Dreading looking at my bank balance, think I will have to take a deep breath . I have the same luck as you with irons, wonder if the makers have this in mind so we have to buy them more often.x

I agree about the irons, I've had to get a new one, let's see how long this one lasts.:o

  • Well a pretty hectic few days. Had a problem with family member on Monday, had to pay hospital parking and extra petrol. Couldn't be helped, hopefully all sorted now.

    Yesterday was NSD 5. :)

Today I've had to get some food stuffs.......can't wait for next week no packed lunches to do all week.:T. Also got an iron, had to take money from emergency fund to cover it. Hopefully I can put it back tomorrow, but have got the car in the garage to check out the knocking noise.

Managed to get loads of washing dry today.......not that keen to try out the new iron tonight though.:D

  • There hasn't been enough hours in the week this week.......or is it that I'm not planning my time efficiently.:o:rotfl:

I took my eye off the ball and we went 10p overdrawn. I think I transferred the money over in time.:(

The car cost £156 to put right. That means we have £32.34 left in the account, we have DDs for DSs mobile and car insurance due over the next few days. OH gone into town to get the CB and he will put that in the bank account. I put £30 petrol in the other night and we only need a top up shop........and no packed lunched next week :j so we will be fine.

Felt a bit low yesterday, people at work 'can't believe we're not having a holiday this year', just because we're not jet setting off somewhere exotic doesn't mean that we're still not going to have a great week off. They really made me feel inferior......stuff 'em!!

I still need to put the money from the savings back I used to pay for the iron.

The car tax for both cars is due at the end of the month and the other car has MOT due and it needs work on the 'steering thingy' doing.

Still need to get school shoes and shirts for DS2.

Anyway on a lighter note......have pegged 2 loads out and another one in the machine as I type. Will do some housework this morning and then off to a beer and food festival this afternoon. :)

Hope everybody has a great day.

  • OH is back from town, he misunderstood what I said about getting the money out of the building society. I said take all the money out ie all the CB just leaving a few pence as we do every month, then put the money in the coop account 'leaving' £10 cash so we have some money for this afternoon. OH thought I meant 'leave in' £10 cash in the building society do that's what he did........I've got to laugh or else I'll cry.:rotfl:

Regarding your colleagues, have they not heard that a staycation is the latest thinking, your just more hip than them :D

Seriously if you feel the need to justify yourselves (but why should you) remember OH had a pay cut and the contribution to supporting DS ;)

  • Thank you for your kind words Baileys Babe.:). I know we'll have a fab time next week. I do quite often feel inferior to my work colleagues. Some of them are very materialistic........but I don't have to see them for a week.:rotfl:

We had a lovely time yesterday, lost OH to the beer hall, me and the kids met some friends and chilled out. Called into supermarket on way home, spent £49. I did buy my god daughter a lovely notebook as a little gift as she's off to uni soon.

Today OH has played in a charity cricket match - £5 contribution. Then we did some gardening.

I lit a fire and burnt some paperwork, found a Bcard statement from when we were drawing cash out, cash on a credit card....what were we thinking.

Not sure what the plan is for tomorrow, depends on the weather.;)
