I managed to use two vouchers off the lenor, there was none of the Redsquare in my local Tesco today so I'll try one of the bigger ones near where I work tomorrow. The bill from the builder has arrived and thrown me, I am in a state of panic trying to work out how to pay it and I have missed this months mortgage payment, things are spiralling!

A break down of my immediate debts is
£1800 for the builder - he is willing to take two payments, my OH is gifting me £500 and I have tax credit of £400 at the end of the month.
This leaves £900 to find next month - ebay sales are £24 at the moment so need to up my game.
£755 owing to the mortgage - guess that I need to call them and make some arrangement.
The council tax sent a form through , re my council tax benefit and every column on it says £0 - even the income! baffled, so I need to call them too.
I NEED A PLAN AND TO STICK WITH IT!!
Packed lunch for work today and we'll be eating out of the freezer tonight.

I contacted Council Tax benefits and my claim had been put in the wrong section and been noticed, took them all afternoon to find it though, but they did call back to say they had now located it

I have broken down the wall debt into 100 chunks of £18 and made a grid to put each 1% into, out of my purse I have put 2% into an envelope and marked them off the grid, only 98% to go, I have had a cheque reimbursing me £121 for school trips so that is another 6% taking it to 8% so 92% left to gather. Child benefit tomorrow should help towards this as will ebay sales which are currently at £26.00.
I really need to stick to this plan and get it paid off! Quite pleased I have made a start. Each chunk of % will be sealed in an envelope and hidden :j:j Who knows, I might use this technique to save for a holiday at some point!:rotfl:

We did well on ebay this weekend, I listed another 12 items yesterday and sold about 3/4 of the stuff I had listed. OH gave me the money towards the wall and I have marked all the ebay stuff and his contribution off on the 100% chart and we are up to 39%, which doesnt seem so scary, another 1% should go on it today as we were paid for some more ebay things this morning. Trying very hard not to spend any money apart from milk this week. Need to get things out from the freezer for meals during the week. Thanks Mum2one for the heads up on ebay, hope you had a lovely weekend xx

Ebay has kind of done ok, a little profit and have relisted the items which did not sell, also have paid the labourer part of the building bill, £507, so just the builders part to find now. My hours have increased by a day at work and I have requested to go back full time, just waiting to hear if that has been approved. Eating out of the freezer is becoming very boring but nearly empty now! Hopefully get it defrosted ready for the winter.

  • I'm still not getting it, how come I have no pence and still havent got enough to pay the builders, I have applied to the council for some assistance, occasionally they will pay towards building repairs. said i'd have the money together by end of the month and it's looming. Mr T shop today, need big items too like doggie food and tea bags not going to be a cheap shop x

I have exactly £27.50 left in my purse, still no closer to paying the builder or the underpayment on the mortgage, also got OH and his daughter staying this week and need to ask him politely to help out with food costs, always feel awful doing that x
