My view of free domains: be careful what you're getting into. They usually come with heavy transfer fees. I did similar for a voluntary organisation about 7 years ago, and whilst the domain was initially free, it cost £150 to move! Not so free. The issue with domains, they become your 'home' and any change of address can potentially mean you lose visitors.
For something like co.uk domain, you can pick one up for a couple of quid on sites such as 123-reg.co.uk and have complete control over it (including transfer, point, park).0 -
Totally agree Greta. The free ones can sometimes close without warning and you lose your hard work, your site & you cannot retrieve it. If you ever decide to move to a better running domain, as Greta says IT WILL COST.
There are many now that only cost a few pounds / year and much better in the long run (I think).0 -
Its a £5 to move, but it has to be after 6 weeks of registration

The US version was in beta for around 8 months last year. The UK version (www.officelive.co.uk) launched at the end of November 2006 so should still have a fair time to go. If you're concerned, just sign up for Office Live Basics which stays free after Betaguerillasaver wrote:anyone know how long the beta period lasts? Dont want to sign up and then get hit for fees
