Kitchen sink waste leak - how to do temp fix

Very small leak under kitchen sink. I'm pretty sure this is caused by the waste pipe that goes directly outside from kitchen sink is located slightly at a downward angle towards sink U bend. The only permenant fix I know is to raise the hole in the external wall, which is a major job...OR to raise sink unit...how....? Water is actually leaking from lowest point - round plastic connector (screw thing) that joins the kitchen trap...However is constant drip so I really do need to deal with this if anyone can advise please and thanks

Can u shorten the pipe that goes out of the u bend up to the sink hole by cutting it?0

Have you tried just tightening up the connector ???
Or take it to bits, make sure the rubber 'o' ring is OK the put it back together ??0 -
I had to do a temporary repair to ours about a year ago.
I unscrewed it and gave it a good wipe round with a rag, then put some silicone sealer round the thread. Retightened then wound a good load of clear duct tape round it.
Probably not the right way, but it's all I could do at the time, and there's never been any problems with it.
I just used what I had to hand at the time and it's been ok.
There's some stuff like plumber's putty but for plastic pipe, I don't know what it's called but B&Q will have it, just ask a bod.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

Piccy but dunno if that will help.. Leaking where the grey pipe joins the white waste (if that makes any sense). Connector is tight & did silicone it ....so I dunno0 -
Ah, I get it.
You could just get some flexi pipe for that.
Kinda like this

I'm sure our Ormus will be around sometime today, he'll know what to do for the best.
When you tired the silicone repair, you did leave it for a whole day before testing?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

LOL ya, I'd second that!!0 -
That type of compression fitting would have to be a long way out of line before it would not seal. Normally an extra twist of the ring will do the job. Make sure that the rubber taper ring is undamaged.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0
