You've pushed the black rubber 'olive' into the fitting I suspect.

Ask to see CIPHE (Chartered Institute of Plumbing & Heating Engineering)
  • You can buy 40mm flexible waste pipe. Its not very robust to put in a cupboard but so long as its not bashed about it will be fine.

That way you can get rid of all the waste pipe including the trap & if you buy one with a compression joint on the end (or separate compression joint) it will be easy to join on the pipework after the trap.

Dont forget to loop it down to form a trap.

Good a temp repair as any.

You can keep all those male pin ups and film stars, I'd rather have my very own Ormus any day :rotfl:

Have removed trap & resealed, reseated. Looks like it may have been a cross thread - black rubber seal looks ok. Will see how it goes....THANKS so much to one & all.

Nearly decided- I'm gonna sell this house & buy a tent. Least I'll be able to justify all the leaks I keep getting :D One step forwards & ten steps backwards ...

pipes must be inline for the seal to work 100%. any non alignment will probably cause leaks.
as been said, a flexi waste pipe is the answer. not cheap.

as a temp repair try some ptfe tape, or evostick.
dry the parts properly before using the glue.

    ps
it can be a nightmare to remove at a later date. you may have to cut the damn thing off.
    Get some gorm.
