Good morning everyone...am sorry didn't get on here last night but JJ was coming to stay and once I put him to bed I promptly fell asleep myself !!!!!!

Went to see oncologist and he's decided I don't need chemo as he thinks he can contain it with radiotherapy. He expects I'll be having a CT scan next tuesday to do my markings for radiotherapy and I will start within a few days of that.He does all his planning scans on a tuesday and there wasn't room for one today.
I got to ask him a lot of questions that were bothering me especially as to whether this was curative or palliative and whether I was going to die soon.
I'm pleased to say the radiotherapy is aimed at being curative(it is a massive area he is doing) as it is still contained locally. He is going to do CT scans every 6 months as well to keep an eye on things. One of my big worries was that the suspicious nodes in the pectoral muscle would spread but he think the radiotherapy should cure all this but the scans will keep an eye on it anyway.
He reassured me that I'll not be dead in a few months not from cancer anyway.

Feel a lot better anyway having seen him and treatment will be over soon.I was dreading having chemo again as it made me feel so ill.

Think I'll go sort the washing out etc as JJ and hubby will be up soon.Think I'll take JJ to town today and treat him as I've got him until his mummy finishes work tonight.

Have a good day everyone x

Good morning taxi. That sounds like a reassuring appointment - it must be a big relief to know that this is not life-threatening. Have a lovely day with JJ. He must be getting big now.

No wonder you fell asleep - all that worry must have really worn you out. so glad you were able to get the answers you needed and that it will be radiotherapy rather than, chemo.

Have fun with jj today - hope he doesnt wear you out!

Taxi, good for you on asking him the hard question, that takes some doing. I'm so glad you got good news - about it being curative, and about not needing to go the chemo route. Like Urg, I'm not surprised you fell asleep.

On another topic - Seaxwyn - look at that debt total! Some debt-busting being going on there, well done you xxx

Back in a few days, Taxi - love and hugs.

That sounds like a really positive appointment, with answers to lots of important questions. It's a pity there wasn't a spare slot for the scans today, but at least you're starting to get things firmed up, and know what's due to happen when. You did really well asking all the questions.
