    Hi Taxi,

You're an inspiration to me...so comforting to have someone around who's been thr all this carp and has come out so positive and strong on the other side.

    Happy new diary.

Hi to friends old and new..everyone welcome here...

Certainly looking forward to York again in January...it'll be lovely to have 5 days with DH as he works so hard that I don't see him very much and it's nice to have time together. Was meant to be going to Cuba but thanks to Thomas Crook that isn't happening.

Made a little start on my list

hoovered downstairs floors ...didn't move furniture as too heavy for my achy old bones ....
    washing up done
    kitchen bin emptied
    Grand childrens christmas presents wrapped
    Washing ...some done,dried and folded
    Accounts ...filled in todays

Then relaxed in a nice hot bubble bath and even lit a parma violet candle (it's one of those lilyflame ones in a tin)...felt very decadent...then watched tv for a few hours and can't sleep.

Think I'll put another wash load on while I'm still up...can't do much else as everyone is in bed sleeping.

I have quite a busy day ahead

Sorry to hear that...I've been numerous times and it's my favourite place and have been to many places in Cuba.
Different people like different things..it wouldn't do for everybody to like the same thing.
Where did you go and what didn't you like?..if you don't mind me asking x

Well that was a very busy day and lots achieved...quite MSE as well but lots of money spent.I normally put £30 in a card for each of the grown ups for christmas..I have 5 grown up children of my own and 2 have partners...so quite an amount of money...I then have 3 grandchildren JJ age 6,Charlotte 2 next week and junior who was only born mid august...I also have DD2s birthday nov and JJs 3rd jan and DHs 25th jan..So quite an expensive time.

As in other posts I have bought and wrapped grandchildrens christmas presents and bought Charlottes birthday presents already...leaving DD2,JJ and DH birthdays to do yet..and DHs christmas pressies...but to be fair he said he doesn't want anything so will probably buy him stuff when we are away.

I decided today I wasn't putting money in envelopes and getting presents instead for the adults and trying to save a bit as well...

Despite not having much sleep the night before DD2 and I were up at 8.20 am and in town by 9.30am...

1st stop TKMAXX and picked up a pair of Bench Jeans for DS2.....£18.00.....what a bargain
then around a number of other shops(unsuccessfully for about an hour) and after a much needed coffee and sit down
    on to
    River Island where DD2 wanted a watch she'd seen.....£25.00..bargain
    on to
some shoe shop (can't spell it) where DD1 had seen some boots and told DD2 about them.....£34.99
was then stuck for DS1 AND PARTNER and DD1s Partner
    so into Boots....
    DS1 AND DD1s partner...SOAP AND GLORY BOX SET...£28.00 each and DS1 PARTNER..SOAP AND GLORY SET...TOTAL £56.00
a cheeky bargain then DD2 bought me the special offer Champneys SPA SET a very bargainous offer at £24.00...this is my present from her...
onto card shop where I bought a lot of cards, gif bags etc...£17.50
    Marksys....8 placemats and 8 coasters.....£45.00 but gorgeous
onto another clothes shop for DS3...jumper ...£25.00
    onto furniture shop....leather suite £2078...

back home to drop everything off
    on to pet shop..dog food....£41.99
    Subway.....just under £10
    Aldi...£60.99

So quite an expensive day so best have a lot of NSDs now...

Glad tuesday isn't as busy...I have a lymphodema appointment at lunch time and need to do the banking.Nothing else I have to do but will potter and try to do some decluttering

It was but glad got everything done.
Am on a roll this morning as I've already washed the pots, folded washing and put wash load in and also wrote all the family christmas cards.Haven't been to bed yet but not worth going as need to do banking and have an appointment at dinner time.
Think I might as well cook the dinner now for later it'll be roast chicken, new pots and veg and gravy and they can plate it up when they come in.
    have a good day everyone

Wow! Actually, Taxi, you *did* save money on what you usually do, so you achieved what you wanted. And you've done so much!

You have your lymphodema appointment today? Hope it goes well.
