It's when you start keeping spreadsheets for all your finances that you'll really find Excel rules you! Tee hee!

Really pleased to hear you are making such great progress in both your course and your weightloss!

  • Some benefits are taxable but if that was your only income for the year you don't usually pay tax on it as it will be lower than your personal allowance.

Is this for the year when you worked pat of it and then went on to ESA?

Have you checked the figures the accountant used?

Glad you are enjoying the course Taxi. Sounds like the sort of change you need for the 'new you' ;)

It's surprising how many miles can be clocked up walking around York. Weather permitting we might go for the day Monday or Tuesday - we started walking around the walls last time we were there but we had to give up as it went dark before we finished and I was getting a bit worried about getting locked in as all the entrances had notices about locking up at dusk. I hadn't realised how long it would take.

    Thanks all.

EE...I've not worked for 2 years but knew I was going to get taxed as I'm a partner in my business. The bug bear is that why should people that have worked for a living and having had their wages taxed once then become sick have to pay tax on the benefit received due to being ill.Same argument with pensions as well.It bugs the hell out of me that people who've never worked get everything and it isn't time limited whereas CB based benefits are time limited and taxable.

Milann...you can most definitely clock the miles up when in York as there is so much to do and you have to walk everywhere.

Lost 1.5lbs at WW this morning and happy with that.Only another 2.5lbs to go until I've lost 5 stone.

Somebody ran in to the cab the other night so have that mess to sort out and it sure gave me a headache the other day...at least it's driveable this time and nobody hurt..have left it to the solicitors to deal with.

Had pain management clinic the other day and they sent me for x ray to see if I;ve got fractures in my spine so awaiting results for that.have to see my Onc monday for check up and dentist is wednesday so hopefully can get plenty of coursework done this week.I really need to get to the centre to do some assessments as well

That weight loss is really impressive Taxi :)

Hope the x rays are ok - if they show fractures can they give medication with the treatments you have already had? I know there is a treatment - bisphosphanates - or something named very similar to that. My brother and nephew have it to build bone density, reduce pain and to help combat the condition they have - they go in periodically for an infusion. But every one is different and what suits one doesn't suit all.

No idea yet Milann...Went to see my oncologist today who was happy overall but wants me to have a bone scan so that he can compare the one pre chemo to now and see what's happening.

Mum2one..yes hubby is fine thanks...other side have admitted full liability so just waiting for someone to come and look at damage and will take it from there.

Glad to hear hubby is ok. Sounds like the oncologist is being thorough which is good but must also be a worry for you.
