Dizzy, I hope you *did* manage to get there, and had somebody from mse with you, or at least felt okay to be there. I put my alarm on, to make sure I knew when to prepare, and just sat looking at my candle for a little while, thinking about Taxi and the stuff we all used to do, the pleasure she took in having JJ so close even during her most painful times, JJ having his own account on the computer or the ipad, can't remember which, so he couldn't access grownup stuff not meant for the eyes of little ones.

  • Some friends and family have posted on her fb page to say how well the service went. It sounds like she had the send off she deserves and i am sure she was looking down on them all and smiling.:A

  • Just caught up with this one.

    That's such a shame, I wasn't aware that she'd died :(

  • Sorry to appear so inept:o but could someone please point me in the direction of any postings on Facebook about Ann's funeral etc. I opened a Facebook account (my first time) a few mpnths ago but have never used it yet and haven't a clue how to find stuff/people on there.

I was an occasional poster on taxi's MSE thread and have subscribed to them all since I joined MSE myself. Even when not posting I read her diaries avidly every few days. Although I never met Anne in real life I, like so many others, felt I knew her. I was heartbroken by her death especially after her valiant battle and the way her attitude to it and everything life threw at her was an inspiration to so many.

Please PM details if anyone doesn't want to post them here. Martin says the thread is to be locked soon and I'd hate all contact with her 'group' to end.

    Thank you.

    Hi.
Yes we did go. Went with OH as he was off this week as well so he took me. No one else from MSE Karma, as far as I know, but it felt 'right' to be there to pay my respects. I know some of you had met Anne, I never had so it was my own personal way of doing this. Sounds a bit crazy but it helped.
It was a beautiful service with JJ giving everyone a chuckle with tales about his Nan. Funny and yet so poignant too.
Anne's husband said he had been amazed about the amount of
cards the family had received from Anne's online friends. I did say that people on MSE wanted to be there but of course we came from all over the country so unfortunately time and distance was an issue. he understood.
We were invited to the wake after but I felt that should be for close family and friends so we thanked them but declined.
I know some of you will have had info about the order of the service from Facebook, I'm not a member, by now and I just feel it's too personal for me a 'virtual' stranger to add it on here but I'm sure I can add that the music chosen was 'Somewhere over the Rainbow, Eva Cassidy' and 'I'm on my way to a better place, Chairman of the board' and 'Wherever you will go, Charlene Soraia' There were poems as well and a wonderful eulogy from Anne's husband and family.
God Bless you Anne. Your family did you proud.

Dizzy thanks for that. So pleased to know that it was such a fitting tribute and send-off, and that there was someone from MSE there to represent the rest of us. Thank you!
