  • So sorry to hear what an awful day you had yesterday, especially after going in there so positive. Look on the bright side though, at least they all got onto sorting things out for you as soon as they could. Not much consolation I know when you were hanging round waiting for it all to fall into place, but at least you went home knowing your arm was not seriously affected and you might also be able to get some benefit from sleepers and anti-depressants.

You've always been so upbeat about things that go wrong (I'm recalling all sorts of probs in the past with the taxi etc etc) and probably hate the idea of pills normally. So please accept any help from medication now if you get the chance. If it means you can get more quality sleep that can only be a plus in the present circumstances. Sleep and rest are great healers, you shouldn't have to go without them.

And thank you so much for your kind comments about my brother's cancer. That's just typical of you taxi, in the midst of such suffering and problems of your own you are so quick to think of others. You are an amazing lady, taxi, don't you forget it!:A

Lots of love to you and your wonderful family:grouphug:

Oh Taxi! What a terrible, terrible time you've been having. I'm so glad there are people who are on here regularly, or who've come back regularly this last week - I just had my birthday weekend :o so I wasn't around.

It sounds like the practicalities of the problems with the line have taken over from the deeper emotional pain you've been going through this last week, but of course its always there :grouphug: you've got some great posts since the 14th - from Piquant, duchy, Z, Rising, El, lots. I wish there was something wise and knowledgeable I could say that would make all this go away for you, but there isn't :( , of course :(

What *can* I say? Well, you know what the logic is - sort of like Z said, if you've made your choice about wanting the chemo, and the fear messages are stopping you doing what you want, that surge of fear needs to be channelled away from you.

I so wish I could help. Please know that even if I'm not on for a few days, I'm thinking of you, with love :kisses3:

    Belated birthday wishes...
I'm going to try and be brave tomorrow with my lorazepam hopefully helping

Taxi although I'm sure its not the worst thing you are going through it seems the 'waiting' around for hours is also taking its toll on you? I was wondering if you could take an ipod or phone loaded with some kind of meditation or maybe with a downloaded book or something? I know Hypno does downloads maybe she could help you with something? I just thought it might be better for you to do something positive with all that frustrating waiting time at the hospitals.

    Take care

good idea but don't have an i pod or know how to put music on my phone...am hoping to sleep through it all.
waiting around has been a massive issue which is why I told them that I'm only going to have chemo 1st thing in a morning as waiting stresses me and they can't be behind
yesterday was just an unfortunate set of circumstances as was only going for councilling and blood but all the other stuff cropped up

Hi Taxi, haven't been around much lately but thinking of you often. I was wondering along the same lines as KM, perhaps reading or music or meditation might help with the length of the appointments and the wait times.
I hope you have a restful and happy Christmas with your family xx

Am sure will think of something but as above hoping to sleep through it tomorrow

You are right I definitely hate pills and always have done but will give in to medication if it will help
Kind words cost nothing and I can understand what a horrible shock it must be for your poor brother and all of your family as the effects of the disease hits the whole family...so know exactly how you both feel..it's a very scary journey

Never went to sleep earlier so am really tired now but don't want to give in until later so that I sleep at the proper time.
Breast cancer nurse phoned me today to see how I was plus the oncolgist secretary just phoned me to see why on earth I've been put in by receptionist for fri morning appt the day after chemo...his secretary is coming to see me on chemo ward in the morning after speaking to onc to see if he can leave it until after new year...I would be due to see him new years eve for my regular appt but he's off that week..he's meant to see me every 3 weeks and I saw him twice last week and another onc yesterday..so she's asking him whether he can see me the week after new year so in effect a 4 week appt which is more sensible ..there are oncolgists on every day so in case of emergency can see someone anyway
  • Glad some of the advice has worked so far Taxi. It is hard to comment as we are not walking in your shoes, but walking alongside you. Support is all we can offer and an ear to bend whenever you want it. x
