Oh Taxi that does sound like a horrible day, with the anxiety, claustrophic room, canulas and so many drugs. I bet the nurses see worse strops every single day.

I hope you get a chance to relax and the next session is a lot better.

I'm sorry you had such a rubbish day :( I'm sure the nurses see that and worse all of the time, so try not to worry about it. I hope you've managed to sleep okay and that next time it will be better :)

  • Taxi your post brought a tear to my eye...that's not having a strop at all thats someone who is scared/anxious and having alsorts of alien thing put into your body...That is bound to affect you, you are not a robot...Obviously I have no idea how you are handling all this but your posts come across as dignified at a time of crisis...Be kind to yourself and don't be hard on yourself for being a little out of control at times....I think that's allowed considering what you are going through.

Taxi, this is a lovely post, it says everything I'd like to say to you, but always lack the words.

    Glad that day's over taxi.
Agree with everyone else, nothing to be ashamed of.
My friend's consultant says chemo is an insult to the body. I'm sure your reaction to it is well understood.

Thanks everyone.I still feel guilty about it but it's done and dusted now so will put it behind me.
Next week should be so much better once they get the PICC line in and I will only be having Taxol next week..don't think that they'll shove me in that room again.
I'm feeling quite well today.Had a dicky tummy earlier but much better now and taking my anti sick tablets.I'd had that much steroids yesterday that I didn't manage to get to sleep until 5.30 am but slept until 11 am.
I've took it easy all day ie been on the couch all day..LOL
This chemo seems less debilitating(so far) than the FEC regime I was on in 2010 but that could be because my Taxol is weekly so would be a 1/3 of a 3 weekly dose and my Avastin is 2 weekly..I guess the toxicity will build up over time but for now I'll take having some good days...
Nothing MSE to report as obviously haven't been doing anything. It'll be a NSD until DD2 nicks my debit card to go and do the shopping after she finishes work at 9pm tonight but that'll be one job out of the way.

DD1 and her other half popped around today to borrow some ladders as they have just moved and are decorating. They didn't have JJ with them as he's gone on holiday with his child minder until weds...he was so excited when his mum picked him up from school as it was a last minute thing so he knew nothing about.
Think that's about it from my world
