Helen, thanks for that full version of the quote - I always remember "the time will pass anyway" but without the context it doesn't have the right ring to it.

    Hello Tilly
Welcome back - glad you had good adventures.
Just wanted to say thanks for the BNS soup recipe (a while ago) - I finally got around to trying it, and it was delicious. I love butternuts but had got into a bit of a rut, so great to have an easy way to jazz it up a bit.
(after the messy bit of squeezing out from the skin, I realised that your recipe hadn't actually said that and googled to find opinions are divided on BNS skin .. I'm all for not wasting, so wondered what you oh cooking guru thinks about this?!)

Hi, sometimes I peel BNS when cooked, with a potato peeler :) other times I just chop off the root end and whizz it all :)

Either way works fine and it's a really consistent recipe I think.

Hope all is well with you.

There's a saying, "Don't let the fear of the time it will take to accomplish something stand in the way of your doing it. The time will pass anyway; we might just as well put that passing time to the best possible use." -- Earl Nightingale, which I think fits for so many things (incliding my MSc!).

I had a version of that quoted to me when I told someone six years was a long time to study for an OU degree - they replied that six years was a long time whether I did the degree or not, I might as well have something to show for it - really resonated with me :T. I've used it on MSE when someone has said how long their MF date is - but in that case I say they might as well have NOTHING to show for it :D.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

  • In my case twelve years is a long time...
  • Completely agree with all the comments about taking action whilst the years pass.

If we had carried on the way we were, we would not be Mf, would still be spending every penny and not saving. Now all my Tilly Tidies, survey £ etc goes into our Future pot.

The bills will start this quarter for activity that won't really mean anything until 3.5 years but I will be scouting for best prices on everything needed :T

Spending a quiet day after a busy weekend and enjoying sorting the house.

Dinner this evening will be leftovers from last night.

Sun is shining, washing is on the line :)

    That's so true.

But at least everyone on MFW board has realised and is now taking action - far better to do so at some point, than never at all :)
