I tend to aim for a number of NSDs (so October is going to be 20) and then try to plan in advance when I'm going to spend. It's easier during the week as I don't take my purse to work with me, so then I can't spend
Good luck with it - it's addictive!Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

This in a smaller way is what we are trying to do. We try and live off my wife's earnings as much as possible and concentrate my wages on the mortgage and main bills as they come in. So far so good, but it is a good plan for every couple to try and do this. If you can live off one set of wages as much as possible and the worst happens to either one of you: sickness, accident, unemployment, etc. at least you already know you can cope, which is half the battle won.
Good luck in his endeavours, something will turn up it always does.0 -

HDK, you so don't want to be like me. You work in a field where you make a difference every day. I just hope your workload can be sorted. Having worked like a nutter myself I know how it impacts the family and your health.
Happy to take you through the template if it helps

We have enough talented people on here, to have a blog covering multiple topics - all associated with the home

Morning,

In the office today and an MsE chum popping in for dinner
Still no heating and it's 1st October :T. Last year it was really cold and the kids wanted me to put it on early -I'll have to check my diary here and see if I did - I don't think so. Plus it's not cold enough to have the heating on now either - we won't make it through to November but fingers crossed we get another week or so.
It's a little misty here and I'm not taking the dogs out first thing as I'm off to the office early.
Have a good day, Tilly x2004 £387k 29 years - MF March 2033:eek:

I started Tilly Tidying at the end of August, £9.39 in first month and a few days. Phoned up to overpay that amount (have to do it on the phone so decided to put it in a saving account each day then going to phone and overpay at the start of each month).
According to the MSE overpayment calculator that one off payment will save me £28 of interest so thanks for the inspiration to do this :T:TInitial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000
Initial Mortgage free date - January 2058
Mortgage as of 1st February 2024 - £159,134.98
Overpayments to date - £79.62
Current Mortgage free date - January 20580 -
Plans changed and back at home now.
I've just made caramel and ginger pears - Waitrose freebie recipe (cards) - smells lovely and really quick to prepare.
Mr T has received DWP payment which was a surprise - I didn't realise it would be paid yet, so I've moved it out of the current account to offset savings. I'll build it up but may need to dip in to it, in the future.
Mr T has changed our bedding and has washing flapping on the line. PC product test has arrived and as that's related to clothes washing as well, it will come in handy
