Actually I think it is a:money: inspired thing..as they were thinking about dropping the idea a few times, but Mr Lewis just kept on saying that would be a mistake..
Core learning skill as far as I am concerned..:D
Hope you get to the end of the week Mrs Tilly...I would find that a challenge but so far am up to 5 days of not spending so far in July if I get through today..that's not too bad for me..and..I now have an all singing all dancing record of everything going in and out of the accounts..DDs and everything, not just 'discretionary' spends..mainly so I can (hopefully!) do a maasssoooovsive Tilly Tidy against the cards at the end of the month..scraping any residue over, and not just the budgeted amount. Looking forward to that!:D

Morning,
64p TT OP :T a DD went out and left me with some pennies :rotfl:
Payday next week and so the cycle continues.
Sad news - lodgers employer announced they were insolvent yesterday  Looks like a hunt for the next one will begin. Will have to leave until end August as we will be away on hols. I'm going to really miss him as he has been a delight and he's loved learning to cook. He will go home with a repertoire of dishes :rotfl:
Off to walk the hounds
Have a great day

Evening, 2 NSDs to go and we will have achieved 5 in a row. Could be a little tricky tomorrow as we are out in the evening, however, I have £5 in my car and Mr T has £2 in his. I'm afraid I have purloined it all and that will cover drinks, which is all we need to buy. We have cut spending to the bone this week, to make up in part, for an expensive weekend to come. Cheekily I'm not counting that in the NSD as it's money which has been out aside for car parking, and I'm not taking anything out of the bank.
We will be having a similar approach next week
Plus I'm only spending grocery money on milk, cheese and fruit between now and the middle of August. Yep, I'm emptying the freezer over the next four weeks. I have money put away in a savings pot to fill the freezer, but I will turn it off and clean before we go on holiday and restock on our return
Seems a bit of a challenge but we have loads of veg in the garden, flour for bread and a half full freezer, so I think we will cope.
Let's call it a freezer and larder rationalisation programme :rotfl:. I'll only be putting stuff back in which fits our needs. No impulse purchases and then trying to use them up.
Mr T and I have a couple of weeks without the kids soon and I'm really looking forward to that time. I love them both but it's good to go back to being a couple. Helps prepare us for when they spread their wings
Hard to believe it's Thursday tomorrow - soon be the weekend and it's payday back end of next week :T
BTW I have very little left to eb@y :T

Sounding good Mrs T..
I am finding the sheer discipline of the JULY challenge good for me. OH spent money on lunch today and I was very narked..it has tarnished my goal of getting to my 5th NSD for the month so far:rotfl: I am not sure I have forgiven him yet:rotfl:
If all goes well we will put a massive amount against the cards this month..I won't jinx it by naming an amount but it will be whopping:T
Know what you mean re the kids..mine are much younger as you know..but the balance between coupledom and family stuff is sometimes very hard to manage successfully. And then there's work as well...any more retirement discussions?.MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Hi Brizzle, quite a few discussions about retirement :T
We have a list of things we need to work through - neither of us were sufficiently educated/aware about pensions etc. Once we are back in September we will be meeting with an IFA. Loads of planning to do but looking forward to it.
I'm looking forward to hearing about your CC payment you seem to be on a real roll. Have you decided what you are going to switch the money to, once you've cleared the cards? MFW?
Best wishes Tilly x2004 £387k 29 years - MF March 2033:eek:

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

What a glorious day. Dogs bedding washed and dried outside :T
Chilli for dinner
Roast beef with all the trimmings tomorrow night. We're going away for a few days on Saturday so no shopping. Off out now.
Have a good night

I had noticed you on ML's thread, it's a great thread that one and a pleasure to read how he works through his decisions, our retirement plans are very different from his in many ways, but I am sure there will be many cross overs, read MMM's blog if you get a chance, he writes some good stuff as well, the way mr el and I are trying to come at our retirement is more in line with his ( although again slight differences )
I'm sure getting an ifa involved will help make things easier to understand
Good luck0
