  • Morning, sun is shining eventually - off volunteering for a couple of hours and taking the hounds.

Shopping for this week was £22 - thank goodness for all the salad in the garden :)

Eating out of the larder and freezer for the week and I'm making a vat of minced beef and onion for the freezer.

£10.93 TT - not sure that counts as a Tilly Tidy as its pretty mahoosive, mine are normally under £1

Have a lovely day MFW chums :).

I must admit I'd love to sort people's houses out - I really do get satisfaction in creating order out of chaos :)

Afternoon, well not as quiet as yesterday.

    DS returning home shortly
DD has sorted her bedroom out, emptied handbags, purses and generally relaxed after the exam period.
Mr T has cleaned all the cars
I've sorted the garage larder and finished a Patricia Cornwell book. I feel like I've been a lazy b£gger but have loved every minute.

I'm off to help Mr T with BBQ prep - this is lunch as I have to cook roast chicken for DS - he is starving and apparently needs a roast dinner :rotfl: He may be disappointed as I'm compromising with a large salad, jacket potatoes and chicken :)

Hope everyone is enjoying the sun

  • Family BBQ turned into a lazy afternoon evening party :) would really like to stay at home today - that's not happening so I'd better get a move on.

Two subscriptions paid out by DD this morning and I've moved the money from the savings pot. These pots have been a godsend.

I do need to increase the car maintenance one - that can be tonight.

    22p TT OP

Lasagne for dinner and Mr T is cooking. I'll make a salad to go with it.

    13 sleeps to go :)

    Next mortgage goal is £175000.

    Hi Tilly

Some time ago you asked for advice about what DD should take to university. My DD1has just grduated and DD2 has just completed her 2nd year so here are their pearls of student wisdom!
    1. Take and use a slow cooker. In the run up to exams and deadlines you will be so pleased you bulk cooked and froze portions.
    2. Take Mr T value duvet and pillows. They are fine, cheap and you can wash and dry them quickly should you need to. I know you are not a fan of Mr T but the ability to wash a duvet and have it back on the bed the same evening is essential in small rooms where sleep, study and some socialising take place!
    3. Equip DD on the assumption that others will "borrow" items and you may not get them back in a condition you would like! 2nd hand is fine. Actually, you may not get them back at all!
    4. And this is for you - never ever pick DD up at the end of term if she is the last to leave unless you want to clean out the shared kitchen or lose a deposit. Yes I am speaking from experience!

I'm sure all will go well for your daughter. Don't forget the impact it will have on you and the rest of the Tillies!

    Best wishes.
  • Thanks so much for your advice, particularly point 4 - that would never have crossed my mind :)

No. 3 - will definitely tell Miss T, another excellent point.

I very much appreciate you taking the time to post.
