Not too bad at all thanks Tilly. Will be pleased to see the back of the snow though (like many I suspect).0 -

We have spoken to a couple of prospective lodgers but one was working shifts and one said they wanted Mon-Fri but didn't really. When the house is busy Monday-Thursday it's never been an issue but I want our weekends just for us
If by some miracle you happen to be 10 miles from Crewe, I will be round on Monday evening because I am the answer to your lodger prayers!
And, while I am here, how did the car buying go? I have been thinking of you ever since you mentioned it because my (secret) goal is to be MF by 04 May 2016. DH thinks the date is later than that but progress has been made and I so want to enclose proof that the mortgage is no more in his birthday card.0 -

Love the idea of including it in his birthday card - what a fantastic idea!0 -

I agree, in fact I'm going to suggest to the Queen to do similar when she sends throughout my 'big' birthday card. I reckon I might just have managed to clear my mortgage for then:pFebruary13 - £74990 (or thereabouts)

Evening,
Lula, Radish and Natty, yep, jarmies were a real treat and it's true I don't often treat myself - I have so many shoes from my previous life, that I feel guilty if I start looking around
Hi DerbyshireGirl, thanks for dropping by. Mr T has decided not to buy a car - I haven't posted about that yet on here, as I wanted to make sure he didn't change his mind :rotfl: So no funds required yet, but he has asked me to offset more, rather than directly pay off. Numbers not agreed yet, so until he tells me how much, I'm mainly paying off the capital :rotfl:
Not near Crewe so can't provide lodgings - would have been fab to have an MSE nutter living with us for a while. DD is really missing our lodger at the moment, and sadly, so am I
Bookworm, nearly all the snow has gone now and looks like a good day ahead tomorrow :T
Radish, well done on the sock purchase instead of jarmies. Very strong minded
Lois and Pix, I went shopping with DD the other day, she bought clothes although the trip was originally for me to buy jarmies. I couldn't believe the range of onesies in the shop though. I don't think I'd like undoing and being half clad whilst popping to the loo
Loads of good deeds done today, so if the 'pass it on' fairy is reading, I'd quite like to be the recipient of good deeds tomorrow - that will probably put the kibosh on that then
Have a good evening everyone, I'll be snuggling in the PJs - I promise I will wash them tomorrow :rotfl:

Very early shopping trip before heading north this morning. This is the last shop of the month - bread, milk, fresh fruit, veg - £12.26.
I will check my spending diary tomorrow but from after Christmas to now that's around £50 ish on food - I may have to go and look now as I'm curious.
Freezer is still reasonably full - some drawers have loads of space, others still full.
I will OP the unused grocery budget tomorrow - delighted
Back in a minute - woop woop woop woop shopping has come to £52.87 - I need to double check when my last biggish shop was but I am delighted - I can OP just under £250. 24th December was the last major shop. So that's around 5.5/6 weeks averaging circa £10 a week. I know this can't be achieved often but it does show just how a bit of menu creativity, using the stocks wisely and frankly eating a little less can help the bank balance.
