Congratulations on reaching your target :T.
  • Very well done on your achievement. Only three years to go!
Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D

Tilly you are are doing amazing well and have even surpassed the goals that you set yourself. I've just noticed that your mf date has been reduced significantly too, well done!

    Congratulations Tilly...:j:T:j
    Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.

  • Thanks for your good wishes. I know January is going to be a little bleak on the OPs but knowing we start the year in a good place is more than enough. Not sure how we will be feeling when we smash through the £200k barrier - may need another party for that one :rotfl:

I'm writing this whilst waiting for friends to arrive for a dog walk and brunch. Michael Buble singing a few Christmas songs and its just struck home that I will be doing similar things in December 2015 but without a mortgage - that seems so surreal and I appreciate things can change and it is not guaranteed. With hard work, determination, good luck on the job front we could achieve it - FAB U LOUS

    Best wishes Tilly x

  • Of course you'll achieve it.... plus as you well know it's not just luck on the job front. Anyway knowing you, it you miss out on the job front , you'll just up your game and meet your mortgage challenge too.

So Tilly - what's the goal after you are mortgage free - financial independence? :)
  • Hi MRN, it's going to be a pretty hectic three years but it's SO close :rotfl:

Mr E, when the mortgage is gone, I had thought I could just retire early but Mr T doesn't seem to agree with that idea anymore

Who knows but December 2012 to December 2015 is just a breath away (well a few) 36 months
