All this talk about vouchers and surveys finally got me to register been meaning to for ages so thanks for that.

Tilly I agree about being organised early I usually have to get mine done months ahead due to family abroad and this year is no different my deadline is 17th November. I also have 3 birthdays in November incl my DH 50th. I do write everything down I wrap or buy as I forget otherwise.

Batch cooking is a godsend when you have a busy week hope work is not too manic for you.

You sound all prepared for the day ahead Tilly! Have a good one :)
  • Hi Ammonite, I wish I felt prepared. I am on calls from now until 7pm with no gaps at all

Hi TallGirl, good luck with the vouchers etc. It has helped this year and even though I've had a couple of scary sessions with checkout staff, I have stuck to my guns :). Keeps our money for us not the bank.

Off to get on the phone, Tilly

  • Is this where I start extolling the virtues of a strong bladder, given I didn't stand up for 4 hours!

Apologies for taking the level of the MFW forum downhill :)

NSD achieved and same again tomorrow.

Beautiful meal of pearl barley risotto with roast butternut squash, red onion and aubergine with ras el hanout spices, on the menu for tomorrow with grated parmigiana to serve mmmmmmm.

  • Very true and I try and do as much as I can in the January sales and then try and spread the cost throught the year as I can afford to do it on 2 or 3 months salary. I hope you've loosened up a bit after sitting down for so long!

  • Morning, dogs walked last night in the rain. NSD ahead unless Mr T manages to buy tickets for a concert. So I guess it could be a NSD or a HSD (huge) :)

An account tidy up of £3.76. I am definitely missing having two lodgers as they paid on different days, i had two OPs a week. I have set myself a challenge to sell, reduce spends etc sufficiently to OP somewhere near the equivalent of the monthly interest charge. FD write each month with what they will be charging. Although I don't make enough it's been a good way of increasing my OPs. My OPs are broken down two ways, I OP a lump sum the same day as the mortgage is due, plus I OP various bits during the weeks including lodger money.

I need a FLW on eb@y to help, plus I may just have another car boot sale in November. I realised I have toys from DS which could go :)

    Have a lovely day, Tilly
