Hi - I just wanted to say hello and to tell you that I have read you diary today - it's amazing and very inspiring. :T I've fairly new to this site and have been mainly lurking until this week. However, I've discovered the MFW area and it's really got me excited. I had never even realised such a thing as overpaying on your mortgage was even possible so I'm seriously considering giving it a go. I have subscribed to your diary (hope that's ok) and I look forward to sharing the rest of your journey with you.

Hi PWD, S&S don't do referrals, they have a site where you can register interest and if your meet the criteria they are looking for (which seems to change depending upon requirements) then you are invited to join.

I have PMd a fellow MFWer the site, so will dig through sent PMs and forward to you.

    Good luck, Tilly

  • Evening Bookworm, you must have some stamina if you have read my whole diary - probably too much waffle, but it has been a huge help in keeping me/us focussed on the journey ahead.

You are more than welcome to join me on this mad journey and I'll check whether you have started a diary too.

    Best wishes Tilly x

I used to save my vouchers up for Christmas but now use them for printer ink through the year which costs me a fortune. I would have done better this year for voucher but cashed all my DY points out as cash for a change. Might re-join you in saving the vouchers up again next year Tilly. I did do this regularly in the hope that I would have a neutral Christmas too. Worked very well.

Well done for you doing your Christmas wrapping, I'm definitely going to start that this month!
  • I am feeling rather disorganised after reading about all this organisation! I do love Christmas though, especially the look on the children's faces when they find their stockings! I have started to buy a few gifts - the Book People have some real bargains, and mine all love books so a nice selection always goes down well (and keeps them quiet on Christmas Day!). Still plenty more Christmas planning to do though - my aim is to do most of the shopping before December (and as much online as possible) so I miss the mad rush!

  • Morning CA, I have beautifully wrapped parcels on the bedroom floor :T. I really enjoyed sitting with the radio on, listening to a play and wrapping. Peaceful and therapeutic. I find shopping in December where I live, completely insane. The festive atmosphere of the shops with the aggressiveness of the shoppers doesn't sit well.

For the last few years I've done my shopping early, with a few last minute surprises to buy the kids. As they grow up new traditions are required to ensure the memories are treasured. What a romantic I am at heart.

Hi Ammonite, I am definitely setting up a sheet on my spending spreadsheet for cashback - wherever it comes from. It's surprising how it mounts up.

Have a good day. I am just about to tackle the ironing pile and Mr T is making bacon sandwiches :T

I can't cope with shopping in December either. I don't mind buying a couple of last minute bits but they are always before 14th December and always online. I like sitting down in the first couple of weeks of December with some festive tunes on or a Christmas film and wrapping....just need to bring that forward slightly this year!

Good luck with the ironing - please send bacon sandwiches this way!

I am done - ironing finished, Mr T is just finishing brekkie and all the ironing, emptying of airing cupboard (how does so much stuff get in there ) is completed. I have one last load in the machine and sadly, the TD will be called into action. It's very damp and miserable this morning.

As its a ridiculous week ahead at work, I intend doing nothing else today, with the exception of a dog walk/ run and making the evening meal, but I don't think those last two count, as they're relaxing :T

I am looking forward to my weekly lodger OP tomorrow morning and £co when that eventually pitches up.

I probably need a little more shopping so i do need to fit a trip to L!dl in.

Have a lovely Sunday and enjoy the week ahead.

    Best wishes Tilly x
