How is your spending diary going Tilly? I'm considering one even though I know hubby won't like it. I'm intrigued to know where all the money goes...!
I think we need to remember this MFW thing is a marathon not a sprint. The other thing of course is....if I stick to my goal and wish away the time....it will soon be 2024 and I'll be 40 and panicking about that!I want the mortgage to go away but I don't want my years to fly by!!
It is annoying me that I can't overpay at the moment but I'm still making provisions to be able to eventually which is the most important thing.
Keep going Tilly!1 -

I think we need to remember this MFW thing is a marathon not a sprint.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Hi all, spending diary is back in use, as is only using cash
For all us mad hatters on this journey - maybe we could liken it to the relay - passing the baton as we progress through mini goals etc.
I feel back to normal agan now - I looked back on my diary and it definitely comes in waves. I can keep the focus and energy levels and then all of a sudden they dive. Fortunately it doesn't take much to get back in the saddle.
The weather has been glorious today and we are off to take the dogs for a walk in a couple of hours.
Openwater race - nope, one challenge is enough for me at the moment:)

I like the idea of being in a relay, as I would be at the back of the pack in a sprint or marathon :jMortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0

Another one here, Tilly, who has waves of 'enthusiasm' - I always want to be MF, but sometimes it seems such an effort to keep it all ticking along.. SOmetimes I just want to go on a spending spree (and ahve been known to - and then take some of it back!) S'rare, though - mostly I'm happy looking and don't want to buy the things, just window shop, for window shopping's sake.
That's where the diaries are good, though - you can read back and see how far you've come - and also that. when feeling less than enthusiastic 'this too shall pass'

Off to bed for an early night - hats off to Jamaica - what a fantastic achievement. If they can dedicate themselves to training that hard,I can stick with the plan until the year of the next Olympics. I will be on the MF podium before the next Olympics.

Hi Greent, I must admit to having a huge desire to go mad in the shops and have a spending spree but there is really nothing I need vs want. Thanks MSE for helping me learn the difference.

Hi Radish, I think I may be able to handle a 10m three legged race, do you think that counts?
