been thinking about xmas for the last couple of days regarding Ts and wondering if anyone knows.....how do they do the price changes over xmas day, ready for sales starting boxing day (i'm presuming their sale starts then!)....i kow they can update the prices on the system ready to go live on boxing day...but what about the SELs?
reason I'm asking is that I've noticed loads of offers which expire on 25/12....so am thinking of going early boxing day (before we go visiting relatives)...to get as many DTDs as possible!!! All the half price toys, and loads of the phones are all due to expire on xmas day! According to that 'very little helps' Ts staff website,it seems that night staff will be finishing early Xmas eve....and its closed xmas day....somy thinking is, if they're slow on updating SELs anyway, boxing day should be great as it willbe busy, possibly with limited staff....and loads of leftover OOD SELs
anyone been Ts on boxing day before and know how efficient their staff are?
looking forward to getting lots of bargains to sort next xmas and birthdays as cheap as poss!!!

If you have used your clubcard for the purchase... Then the store where you got it from can bring up a copy of the receipt.... if you ask them to print it off for you ( just make up an excuse, say you need it for Tax Purposes or some other goboldygoop like that ) then they are usually quite willing to do it for you.
Then Voila - you have another 'clean' receipt.- Only ever done this once when i wanted to return a Surround sound system, where i had genuinely lost the receipt and wanted to return it to a more local store from the one i purchased it from... had to go back to the original store to get the receipt, but sure that you could then go to an alternate store with the receipt printout and get the full amount back. x
i remember this from DTD/pricechecker days, isn't only within 7 days though?GRATITUDE WHEN GIVEN, PATIENCE WHEN DENIED

Let us know how you get on with that :rotfl:
I got a big DTD and the SA made a point of saying I wasn't entitled to a refund as the DTD was more than the item cost. I know we have statutory rights but you forget Ts have their own rules & regulations and are above the law. Others have fought and managed to get refunds on DTDs but it's not been easy.
The item might well scan at the high price but you'd be lucky to get a refund without a receipt hence a golden receipt is priceless - literally.
i remember on the old thread someone queried this with HO,who advised they could be refunded, but only the amount that it scanned at....at the end of the day, just because you've had DTD it doesnt affect your statuatory rights...if the item is faulty you can return for a refund...at worst, you could return it and get a credit note.
I actually tried this about 2 months ago...bought phones for £150 (shouldve been £70)..got DTD of £160....then took them back to another store and got £150 refund...;) (they were for my mum, who had already gone and got the same ones, unbeknown to me at the time!)hoping for a very MSE Ts glitching 2012!0 -

Not as happy as me :rotfl:
PM'ed you as well
Did slightly panic though, after the guy put it through he started looking at it and opening it up I was like  but he was just looking for a security tag *phew* then he starts looking for tape to close up the box but I was like oh no it's fine dont worry about it!
I then :dance::dance::dance: my way out the store!...those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.

i know.....and i have you guys and the old thread (and this shiny new one!) to thank for it!
For the last couple of years,I've done a lot of xmas shopping at Boots on the event nights, then used the points to get stuff in the january 75% sale for birthday presents for most of the year...but its still cost me £££ to get the points in the first place!
This year, Xmas has cost me very little, I have 3 freezers jam packed full of food..a garage full of dogfood, comfort, baked beans, pasta and chocolate...and we're still saving money each month!! I LOVE IT!! only downside is when you go in the garage on the dark for beans and come back with dogfood lolhoping for a very MSE Ts glitching 2012!0 -

Not sure - think it was more than 7 days though when i returned the surround sound,......? cant be 100% on this though... but if someone was after a 'Golden Receipt' - 7 days would give them enough time.?Proud Mummy to a new little girl - Phoebe... born 11 days overdue on 3rd Jan 2012.0 -

Watching the MTV EMAs just because our wee country is hosting it. My claim to fame is that I was within 2 miles of Justin Beiber. For a small fee I'm willing to reduce that distance and dump him in the river Lagan
Think I'll give glitching a miss tomorrow unless this cold/infection disappears overnight. I looked through the window earlier and thought Xmas had come early when I saw Rudolf. Then I realised I was looking in the mirror.
And for all the smokers out there ...... good luck. I gave up during my pregnancies but started back again between the boys. Somehow this time I've stayed off them even given the last few months. I still like the smell but I actually haven't been tempted. And for whoever said earlier about not seeing the money they've 'saved' - I know exactly what you mean. I'm not seeing a £6/day saving but thinking about it logically if I was still smoking I couldn't afford to pay the bills so that's where my saving has gone.
Were Jedward there? I thought they would be but I think they went to New York yesterday. I love Jedward, they make me laugh which is never a bad thing is it.
Talking to my friend at football yesterday, he was trying to be polite, its taken ages to get him to believe I am going to see them on their tour. I really am
He said do they sing or something, do they do covers or do they have their own songs.
So I said "No they just take their clothes off!" :rotfl:His face was a picture because I never come out with anything like that, he's still confused he knows they are the twins but now isn't sure what they do & if I really would go to watch two 20 year old built like pipecleaners take their clothes off :rotfl:Thats why I went to see Ricky Martin in concert0
