The fellow shopper may not have been an MSEer. They could have been a lurker or someone that read the FB posts on Ts clothing page the other night. If they were a fellow MSEer then that wasn't a very nice experience you just had.

    .

Without wishing to sound harsh, some of you need to wake up and realise that the majority of bargain hunters are just selfish people. We are in the minority in the way we share amongst each other.

The amount of savvy shoppers who read the various internet forums on savvy shopping (MSE is not the only one by far) in these difficult economic times grows every day.

Look even at how people rounded on the FB clothing poster the other day, calling him a liar (when it was them who were in fact lying) and all the catty remarks on here followed by the paranoia and remarks about secret groups, lurkers etc. In the main human nature makes people selfish and protectionist plain and simple. Sad but true. :(

Stunningly gorgeous day here with blazing sunshine and 13 degrees outside and no glitches to chase so off to take the dog for a lovely long walk. Have a great day everyone. :)

I would love to join the FB club , but I am not very Technical . How would I keep it private and seperate from my friends and family .

Few of us have set up facebook accounts with our MSE names. Although I lost a shoe in the process. FB didn't like plural for some reason. I don't really understand FB having not used it before but some people say your friends and family cannot see the group as it's private. HTHs

Good afternoon all....not been on the thread for a few days, just played catch up. sorry to hear about Loobys accident but glad it's all sorted now. A belated happy birthday greeting to Czernichia and hugs to everyone else.

I know this is going to be off topic and not related to Tesco but think with Christmas coming up and people could be buying mobile phones as gifts then I thought I would share the following with you all:

I purchased a mobile phone from Carphone Warehouse on 25th Feburary this year. 22nd September I took it back to CPW as it failed to work. They sent it off for repair and told me they would be in touch within 2 to 4 weeks. 2 weeks later they knew the phone was 'beyond repair' but did not inform me as they had the wrong telephone area code and did not have the common sense to google correct code.
On the 20th October I called CPW and they then informed me phone was 'beyond repair' and I had a choice of 4 phones of which neither was my original model. After explaining they needed to offer me a 'like for like' phone then they agreed to replace with same phone. Manager of branch told me replacement phone would arrive within 10 days. The 10 days came and went and still no phone, when queried why,the manager just said 'that's how long it takes' . I mentioned that if I had placed an order for a new phone then it would arrive the next day!! I made several calls to customer services about the delay and am still waiting for them to call me back.
Wed 2nd November I collected the replacement phone and I was told by store manger it was a new phone. I tried to charge the phone at home to no avail, back to shop I return Thursday morning. Manager not in that day but another staff member finally got the phone working. The staff member also let slip that the replacement phone was in fact a reconditioned phone. Obviously I was not happy with this and asked for a refund. Staff member said he not had the authority to give a refund so I asked to speak to someone who did. I spent 1 hour in the shop on their phone to Customer services and repairs. Both departments kept telling me that the other department had to authorise a refund or the branch manager could issue a refund. In the end I gave up and left as I was getting no satisfaction.:mad:
Yesterday morning the phone failed to work so back to CPW I go. This time manger was there and he tried the phone but it would not work. I asked what he was prepared to do to sort out the problem and he just shrugged his shoulders and said ' I don't know what I can do'. Again I asked for a refund and again was told 'I have no authority to do that'. I then turned to the other customers in the shop and asked them if they were buying a phone, if so, don't, as the customer service was very poor and if they replace your phone then it is with a reconditioned model. The manager threatened to throw me out of the shop for 'slander'...his word. I then said to him 'sort out the problem and I will have no need to tell the customers here about the poor service I have received'. He then agreed to give a new phone (not a reconditioned one), unfortunately my phone was not in stock.
I asked if I could pay the difference and upgrade my phone, he said no at first but then called his area manager who agreed. So finally I paid an extra £70 for an upgrade. I begrudged doing this as felt I was 'rewarding' bad service but it was the only way I could get a new phone. Would preferred to have had a a refund and bought a phone elsewhere but they would not agree to a refund.
Sorry for the long story but just wanted to warn people about CPW policy on repairing/replacing phones.
I Would not want anyone else to have the trouble I have had. I am going to e mail the CEO of CPW cataloguing all the problems I had. Incase anyone else needs the email address of the CEO then it is

Back to Tesco... I managed to get 2 scarves yesterday, :):) they scanned as 'mens' so maybe worth looking in the mens department for scarves.

Hope everyone has an enjoyable day..:):)

I got another DTD last night.

Pampers baby dry nappies 5+ 13-27kg junior plus. Barcode 4015400418221

Were labelled as £6.49 or 2 packs for £10.00, so i grabbed 2 packs.

Paid along with other shopping and thought oooh that seems expensive.

Checked my receipt and noticed that both packs had scanned at £9.99 each. Of to CS I troddle.

I took a pack with me along with the CS lady, we stod there for 10 minutes, I pointed out the packs I bought and the SEL, she checked the barcode and said NO they cant be the ones there the wrong barcode.

So I preceeded to say OK then, look, there are NO other packs of nappies anywhere with 41 in them, then pointed out that the rest of the pampers baby dry nappies were the same. This SEL obviously related to this pack of nappies as all the info for this pack of nappies is on the SEL, size, quantity etc.

We argued a bit more, she said she's have to speak to her duty manager. She tried ringing her, it was engaged, so she said she'd refund me £10 and that would mean I paid the right price. WOAH there lady, im entitled to DTD because YOU have over charged me. Well its not an over charge as its the wrong pack, the barcodes dont match. Get me the duty manager please i'll argue it out with her, well aware that there was a massive queue behind me, all giving me daggers.

So she rings the duty manager and surprise she answers this time, 5 seconds later a £19.96 refund to my card, off I toddled with my FREE nappies. :T

I was all for accepting the £10 as they are having a refit and just got loads of new freezers and the store was like minus 50, loads of people complaining how cold it was, it took me 2 hours to get feeling bad in my fingers when I got home, but I stood my ground, so glad I did.
:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T
:T than themselves - you know who you are!
    :T
