Anyone got any MSE tips on stopping carpet sliding on laminate flooring?

My house is bl00dy freezing even though it's a mid terrace, we don't get any sun on it. so being a MSE (tight @rse ;)) I decided to buy and end of roll carpet for £9 instead of a rug for £70+ to try and keep the place a bit warmer. The problem is it's sliding around all over the place even with the couch on it one end and my £1 T's coffee table at the other.

I thought about double sided sticky tape but I don't want to ruin the flooring as the house is rented.

Answers on a postcard please, thank you :rotfl:

i use duble sided sticky tape on mine....it keeps the rug still while the kids are diving all over it....and just rub the area with a wet cloth and keep 'peeling' bits of the sticky stuff off when you want to remove it....if your laminate is brand new and in top condition this will be fine...if its like mine..a few years old and wasnt expensive in the first place, then i use a scouring sponge (the yellow and green things not a metal one!) to get the sticky stuff off....hasnt damaged our floor yet,but like I say ours wasnt expensive so be a bit careful with it being rented!

Angelina - have you been to L*ng Eat*n today to look for that bag? If you got it great - if not, someone else has nabbed it! Just been for cereal (none ofthe 49p stuff), bread and milk....had a look while I was there for other bags - that brown one has gone, and the others I scanned were all full price....couldnt see any PJs, pants or socks either! Found the blue raincoat with aliens on...got all excited....scanned at £4.50 :(...none of the girls ones there either :( didnt have time to check any toys or anything else!

    May I suggest something?

If you let someone know about an item in a certain store in a certain place maybe do it by pm? otherwise a lurker will get it first...
(not that I don't want to share but I'm sure you know what I mean...) :A

I'm so jealous of all the whoopsies you lot get, in my store the stuff gets reduced from £5 to £4.75! I never see anything less than half price :(

oh..stoopid me!! I'm sure someone posted here that the alien one was 4p as well...i was nearly cartwheeling round the aisle when i found them!! nevermind...i will make it my challenge! Think my locals are about 2 weeks behind those down south, as I only seem to find stuff about a fortnight after alot of you guys!!! :)

    You're a genius...

Apologies if this has already been covered - I have just got in and have a 'few' pages to catch up on but didn't want to delay confirming that this worked.

    I bought 9 Dove gifts at £3.25 each - original price £6.50.

Paid £29.25 and went to CS with magazine in hand. The young lady checked with the department manager who said that they weren't doing 342 at the moment because they were doing half price instead and 342 would be reinstated when half price ended.

I showed her the magazine and said that there was no mention of the 342 not working if another offer clashed with it and it was also in date.

She checked with a Manager who agreed to refund me 'just this once' and she gave me DTD without my having to ask.

So, a spend of £29.25 and a refund of £19.50 giving a total cost of £9.75 for 9 nice smelly gifts.

    Many thanks OP.
I made a mistake once, believeing people on the internet were my virtual friends. It won't be a mistake that I make again!
