I'm going searching for one of those tomorrow is that the actual name just a Light Strike is it suitable for 6 year old ?
Justbsays light strke nhe box, was by all the nerf guns. Not sure about it for a 6 yr old though, but at least it wont cause damage!:)Please don't judge me. you couldn't handle half of what I've been through.0 -
Just back from a trip to Asda...... my god how boring. Only went to use my Hovis Homebake coupons as cant find them in Tesco, it just wasnt the same knowing that everthing was going to be the correct price and they stock practically everything we are on the hunt for in Tesco.
Thanks for reminder I've past two Asda's & forgotten what I wanted in there it was to use the Homebakes coupons0 -
Is it just me, or does anyone else get a bit, i dont know, posessive about their deals as well???
When the toy thing was on, I had a lady (another shopper) watching me cart toys back and forward to the self scanner, and laughing and making comments. Then I found the Buzz lightyear for £4 and all of a sudden, shes not laughing and wanting to know more......I told her nothing. Does that make me a bad person :S lol
Dont get me wrong, I'm more than happy to share my deals, but we 'work' to find our bargains! lol x0 -
As Jumblejack says I didn't make the title very clear (anyone know how I can correct it?) but this is more a chat & deals thread rather than others that are just deals
caught up now i see youve done it well done0 -

us lot here, chat (lots of) care, and cheer each other up when down. we give out medical advice (nagging) and help each other with cooking various things a well.
your welcome to join in as well.
I asked two genuine questions and gave one bit of gentle advice - in return for which I got several rude, arrogant responses (of which yours is one) - as I take it from that the majority of users of this thread (and I am a regular reader, and always thank when I find something useful - on the Tesco threads) seem to be like this, why on earth would that encourage me to join in?! :rotfl: I wonder if the real reason for the store names being obscured might be more to do with not wanting other money-savers to dare to trespass on "your patch"? (Don't bother by the way, it's rhetorical - the defensive nature of the responses makes the answer quite clear!)jumblejack wrote: »Essexhebridean, this is primarily considered to be a chat forum for Tesco addicts. The previous thread title made this clear but we have had a new thread recently and the title is a little unclear.
It is a helpful little community that all are free to join in.
A lot obscure the store names to prevent Tesco staff checking the threads for their store references.
Lots of threads get moved so folk here share any titbits they find from other threads and sites for the rest.
For many it is their one stop shop.
Hope this helps.
Thank you - nice to have one personal prepared to behave decently and give a straight answer to a straight question. Still interested to know why everything can't go on one thread though? This one is rather "hidden away" being with the expired stuff.BAILEYS6904 wrote: »***Fraud????? How so??? Its using a tesco pricing policy, as directed by them. Not all DTD's are nationwide or uniform. If they were that bothered, they wouldnt put self scan machines in stores***
Anything else????
Try checking out the legal definitions of fraud. The word "intent" also has bearing here - you are going out with intent to gain from Tesco's mis-pricing. The active searching out of the deals could potentially be an issue. My comment was posted as genuine, well meaning advice as nobody else seems to have thought of this yet although the free wi-fi has been mentioned. Considering how (rightly) cynical the majority of posters on here are with regards to Tesco's motives and policies, do you REALLY think they have provided the free wi-fi connection out of the goodness of their hearts, with absolutely nothing to gain from it and no thoughts of how it can be used to their benefit?!
If I was working for Tesco's legal team, this thread would be extremely interesting, obscured store names or not.....

EssexHebridean wrote: »A couple of quick questions:
Why when this thread has expired is it still being used for deals to be posted on it? Surely there is a new thread now? At the moment there seems to be about three regular Tesco threads going and for those of us who don;t have all day, every day, to sit and look through them for deals it makes life very complicated!
Second, why do people keep obscuring the store names. Surely it means that someone doing a search to see if anything has been found in their local store can't do so?
Finally, bear in mind those who are cheerfully using the instore wi-fi to search out some of the DTD deals, chances are that as Tesco will have your browsing history, they could feasibly use this to prosecute for fraud! Whether they WILL or not is another question, however, considering some of the tales of people knowingly making hundreds of £'s by this method it may prove worth their while. Of course, they may go down the line of simply blocking MSE being accessed through their wi-fi!
This thread is a friendly, safe place away from those who moan and cause threads to be closed. All are welcome so long as they know how to smile.
People obscure names so that T's staff can't just do the same as you've suggested. This thread is a community and specifically about discussion as well as deals, the other thread is less discussion. If you don't like the chat, the other is always there for you.
I highly doubt that T's have the tech required to track browsing history. They also know full well that this thread and site exist, but don't bother to do anything about it.
Also, no fraud is committed for simply following Mr T's own policy.0 -
