haha!
I love to make a pie and I make a decent shortcrust pastry, its so easy.
My husband considers chips the epitome of romance too. This is no bad thing as I consider chips to be one of the worlds best inventions.
Ive started one sealed pot. It probably contains some old pesetas and only one tenner but I am going to add to it!
I cant raid it, I tried. Its sealed and I would have to open it with a tin opener!Trying to shift that debt!0 -

Now mine has no lid, but it does contains some Euros, some dollars and even a few old Iraqi Notes from the days of Saddham ! I have tried many a time to pay for DD2's school trips with these random coins, in the hope the school wont notice, but they always get sent back . I havent sealed it as its handy to have around if someone needs an odd 20p for something or DD2 needed more butter for her baking yesterday and I wasnt home. I think I could do with a sealed one as well though really !
Mr Pinot has been known to be romantic, but these days it tends to be new car parts he lovingly brings me home looking very pleased with himself indeed !! Oh actually he did bring him home a new descaler for the kettle a few weeks ago !:rotfl:LBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Hello, just checking what you've been up to, and it's loads as usual
.
Congratulations on paying off 13% already! That is really going some, well done. Bad luck on having to raid your sealed ISH pots though to feed the girls.
The forgetting-to-turn-the-oven-on story reminded me of one of Mr Happy's mis-adventures years ago. We'd just got married and had been given an electric deep-fat fryer as a wedding present. Mr Happy decided to make me some chips as a token of his affection (he is indeed very romantic!). He placed the fryer on top of the hob so that the extractor fan would take away any fumes. Then he absent-mindedly turned on the hob instead of the fryer. Then he left the room for 15 minutes, only returning to see what had set the smoke alarm off!! I can't begin to describe the mess - the fryer had completely melted all over the brand new hob, and all the oil had spilled out over the entire kitchen. And the SMELL!! I should have taken that as a sign - I was probably still in time for an annulment :rotfl:!
13% is great I know, but I am sooo impatient. I need it gone and I need it gone now !
What a funny story Mrs Happy ! Mr Happy does sound very funny in his own special way !!I dont think we have had anything quite so disastrous happen, but I did manage to burn a few holes in the brand spanking new kitchen counters when we bought our first house many moons ago. We had only been in it for a few days ,and I was still new at this cooking lark and didnt realise that the cheap countertops werent heat proof and managed to burn a hole through them from the undersides of a saucepan in a few places.
We never could afford to replace them, so when were trying to sell the place I had to put a few stratgegically placed items over the top of the burn marks in the hope they wouldnt be spotted ! I bet my name was mud when we moved out and they discovered the true state of the counters !;)

I need to let you all into another little secret !:o
I cooked the Gammon tonight. After asking for your suggestions yesterday on what to do with it, being a little disorganised this evening, I decided instead to shoved it under the grill......but I thought I would try and be a bit posh, so I made a glaze with honey, mustard and pineapple juice and then just before they had finished I plopped a bit of pineapple on top to grill and then poured the glaze over the top ! It went down a treat, I didnt get any as DD2 loved it soo much she ate mine ! I got some potatoes though.........but I was surprised to actually find the pineapple in the cupboad in the first place as I honestly cant remember the last time I bought tinned fruit of any sort. But in my excitment I merrily served it up, the pineapple did look sort of squidgy but as I was in a rush I ignored it. It was only after the plates were cleared and I was tidying the kitchen that I looked on the underneath of the tin and it was use before May 2005 !:eek::eek::eek:

You and your food. :rotfl:
The other week was mouldy bread. Today tinned fruit 7 years out of date. :rotfl:
What will be next? I can't imagine there being too much wrong with fruit in a tin.
I knw what you mean about wanting to clear the debt sooner. Unfortunately due to not thinking about the interest to go on a loan my debt increased. I had taken the loan amount and reduced it by payments made and forgot about the interest I had to add to the load.
As Del would say - You plonker Rodney. Hopefully I've learnt my lesson and will check carefully in future.
Glad things are looking up for you.
