You are definitely NOT where you started. When you started in November 2011 (have we really "known" each other that long?!?!) you didn't know what you were going to do, you didn't know if you were going to have to sell the house or never seen Mr P because of work. You are £20k+ better off and doing a hell of a good job. At the moment you're having a terrible time with some non-payers and I really hope they come good with you. Do you have other work for Saturday? Otherwise could that job be a lifeline invoice for when you get a bit stuck later on. I know it's not good to be working for nothing, but if it means you'll get that little bit more money in later on then maybe it's worth it.
I can't advise on the DDs I'm afraid. My parents never talked to me about money, my sister always managed to get money out of my parents and still gets bailed out by my Dad, but I always saw it as a taboo subject tbh. Maybe suggest to her a paper round? Or could she help market Mr Ps pictures in some way to help increase the household income therefore earning her pennies?
They do seem like sensible girls though, like Granny said. Maybe letting them in on a little of the situation might help? I know we want to protect our children from these kinds of things, but it might help them in the long run so they don't end up in a similar situation. Although, I'm sure they already realise you work so hard for them to provide the lovely life that they and you have.
Massive hugs to you Mrs P, I'm crossing everything for you that the invoices starting coming in soon xxDiary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

Yes Kerri it really is that long !! How time flies when your having fun eh ??!!
If Im honest we weren't going to take work for Saturday, we have work for Sunday and Mr PG has to do a few hours work from home on the current Contract so we couldn't fit anything else in. He hasn't had a day off since 19Jan and is exhausted , so as much as we need the work , we will get a few hours paid work Saturday from the drawings he is doing for our current client. Does that make sense ?
I have tickets for a Back Pain Show, very very boring sounding I know, for Saturday and we want to try and make it there if we can, it could be worthwhile for me. So we wouldnt have taken the work anyway but it was a good one to come back at them with. We have cancelled other work with them, but we already had work to fill those dates elsewhere, so we are not actually losing out, its just the client that is. I am going to put some feelers out to other guys in our business and see if anyone else has been having trouble with them paying. I have a Solicitors letter ready to go if need by but I am holding fire on that one at the moment.
As you say posts crossed, DD1 does know things are tough, infact I have actually told her exactly how much we are owed and exactly how much we have. Guess its pretty difficult at nearly 15 when your friends are all off out and about and you cant necessarily go or have loads of money to spend. I don't honestly think that all the families are actually that flush, but as I said to DD we do pay for dancing, singing etc which the other parents dont, therefore perhaps giving them extra for their children to go out etc. DD1 is a very lucky girl, she does know that and does appreciate everything she gets. Its me getting up tight with the situation and feeling guilty I suppose for getting stressed out over a bag of chips or the cost of a bus fare.
I am burbling now. Just finished my first Up Your letter to the DCA. xLBM July 2011 - Finally took control Nov 2011 DFD Sometime in the distant future !

Sending positive vibes your way that your debtors will pay up quickly. It's no fun trying to make ends meet when you have little/no money coming in. A couple of the companies I used to do contract work for wouldn't pay up for ages but still book me out to do more work. It's very frustrating.
Just remember what Kerri said. You have come a long way on your debt free journey already and in no way are you back where you started. I know it feels like that at the money but once the money comes in, and I know it will, you'll feel differently.
The Back Pain Show sounds interesting. Hopefully it will give you some really good ideas on how to manage it.Diary: Conquering Debts Once and For All

:T:T £400 into account today from the people who wouldn't pay up. They owe more but it's something.
So this morning I have paid the council tax £270 , given THEM £35 , £40 back yo VAT and Fred's £39 to keep them quiet. £50 to buy some food and leaves just enough to put some fuel in the car to get Mr PG to work in the morning.x

Been thinking of you Mrs P ... defo right thing to do with that Company that did not pay up... what is to say they will pay your promptly or at all for the next job.... They have to face the consequences of their actions. I have no doubt you will be okay you both work too hard, too long hours not to be....As regards taken it out on the family... This week my o/h has had to endure me... I have been on the biggest ,,,, mahhoooosive pity party... and I have dragged him in... but no more... I am tired of my moaning and groaning. Now I know you dont do this you are fantastic with your daughters... what I am trying to say is that we all have very low moments... and I know you will get over it ... BIG HUGS...xx0
