I am scrabbling around for things to sell at the moment but I am hoping the wonders of the loft will hold some treasures .

Bob the Builder just informed me the roof needs to come off, two lofts need emptying and DD2 moved out of ther room ! The PG residence will be in utter chaos for about three weeks !

Thats the bit I am dreading, I can cope with the roof being pulled off but its the dust and mess indoors I think I will struggle with !

Yes indeedy, they are sorting the roof and chimney at the same time now which is good, previously it was being treated as two separate jobs.

I am looking forward to scouting around for treasure in the loft although knowing my luck all I will find is a groovy trifle dish I have been given my a well meaning relative or a marble cheese slicer, I swear I have one somewhere !

  • Well today has been interesting

The builder was far more interested in telling me how fit he is for 40 ish, how much sport he plays, how he noticed upon turning 36 he wasnt as lean and mean as he once was so he has now taken up sport once again and is now back to his gorgeously fit self ! :rotfl:He declined my offer of sugar in his tea, as it was bad for his figure. He asked me many a time if there was anything other than the roof or the chimney he could do for me . I dropped Mr PG's name into the conversation on many occasion and only when I mentioned he was a hot shot rugby player ( back in the day maybe, I failed to mention his penchant for lime green mankinis's these days instead, or that he hasnt played rugby in many years , it didnt give off quite the same "back off" vibe ) did he then shut up, although he left with a passing message that he would be visiting again personally once the project was up and running to make sure that all was going to plan, so for me not to worry about anything. He left a variety of numbers and contact details and that I could text or call anytime !! DD1 who happened to be here and was listening from her bedroom, was nearly wetting herself with laughter ! :rotfl:

After recovering from his advances, I needed to deal with another ongoing problem at the school whereby a "Restraining order" has now been put upon a boy who will not leave DD2 alone. It has taken three complaints from DD2 and also from us before anything was done. He is not allowed within a certain vicinity of her. I couldnt help but laugh really, they are only 11 and although he was bothering her in a very scarily sexual manner it did make me wonder what the world is coming to when teachers issue a child with what they are actually calling a restraining order .

So after dealing with that one, it was a two hour long girly chat with DD1 who has been upset herself over various things. She is happy and smiley again now. We then began looking at Work Experience placements for her for October, so if anyone out there is in the magazine, photography , fashion world who may be able to offer a placement for two weeks to a 15 year old, please shout !! We reeled off a couple of letters, stalked a few people on Tumblr, Twitter etc and wrote a long list for the next few people on our hit list !

The new project has kicked off and is already proving a tad troublesome with the goal posts being changed already, including the length of time we are needed for. In the meantime today, I turned down and cancelled work for February to accomodate this project and this evening they are saying it may not be for as long a time as originally thought, so may not needs us five days a week until the end of MArch. It makes it very difficult to know what additional work we can and cant accept and when. Hopefully things will become clearer tomorrow.

Tonight I have decided to spoil the family with another culinary experiment.:o " Wait and See Pie " was on the menu this evening rather than the infamous Pastry Brush Pie ( of which I will never live down and my mum has now brought me a silicone pastry brush to ensure it doesnt happen again !) Mr PG had made a rather mean Lamb Curry a few days ago, I dont eat lamb and neither do the girls but Mr PG loves it. I refuse to cook it and he only gets to eat it when away with work. He saw this curry , fancied making it and as it was shredded meat I told him that if I was ever to eat lamb at all it would have to be shredded but I couldnt promise I would like it and we couldnt tell the girls what it was. So, he knocked up a 4 hour Lamb curry, he wasnt allowed to talk to me about it or make me look at what he was doing, or the meat on the bone. We told the girls it was Shredded Curry, they didnt question the contents. It was the best thing I think I have ever eaten !! They loved it too ! There was loads left , I think he was feeding five thousand, so we ate it again the following night but there was still some left, so tonight I made a "Wait and See Pie" , Wait and See being that I have no blinking idea what the hell I am going to do with it, but it will resemble a pie of sorts ! I threw the curry in the pan, add a slug of red wine, bit of water, tin of toms, leeks and onions and away we went. DD2 was slightly flumoxed when she found the frozen pastry defrosting in the airing cupboard, but upon explanation was happy !

It went down a treat, it has all gone, namely I think in DD2's tummy and hollow legs. They are all alive and smiling ! I feel so proud !!!

Off now to type up DD2s Geography homework for her , she has done it in rough but is exhausted having had three tests sprung on her for tomorrow so is busy revising. DD1 trying to draw Mr PG working for a still life Art Project, from the sounds coming from the other room its not going too well !!

    xx
