I cannot believe I've just stumbled across your diary - you dark horse ;).

Hooked. But have quite a bit of catching up to do, but these pesky labourers keep popping babies out:rotfl::rotfl:.

Might have to track back through the diary another time xx

Thankyou HH. I'm not sure about the update. I am still trying to decide what to do with it. If I can top back up the £2000 payout I got from one of the credit cards that I had put in the Full and Final Fund) and then add this PPI payout to it that will be just over £5000 and I have managed , goodness knows how to save about £800 since we started this bumpy ride, and I have a cheque from the NatWest Credit Card people here for £600, so that will be a nice amount sitting in the pot. :D

With all the disasters recently its been nice to have that money there as we certainly have needed to use it, if it hadnt I'm not sure how we would have coped. So a part of me is loathed to part with it all , right this second, to the predators epecially when things are ticking along nicely and noone is jumping up and down. If I dont use it I can continue to try and build it up. I have a Vi£gin Card (MBNA) with about £2800 on it, the smallest debt, so I think I may look into offering them a full and final with it. Obviously advice on how to go about this is all differing. Some say that when on a DMP you have to share it out equally between everyone, others I have heard have got in touch with each and every one of them, said I have X amount to give to one of you, first come first served, and others have offered one company a full and final and then split what they would have made on the monthly payment for that debt around the remaining creditors. The third option is what I would prefer to do, but Im not sure Im brave enough to part with my cushion at the moment ......just incase with our run of luck recently I need it !! :D

I can understand the above for the first time in our life we have a cushion and parting with it now is really hard to do, especially as you say "something" always crops up. When that happened we used to turn to the cc`s now it is nice to know the money is there.

I'd keep a 500-1000 buffer cushion and perhaps ask your cashflow advisor for advice on tackling F&F

Choice is of course yours and as you will have seen no one way to do anything with DMP land, they keep the element of randomness to stop us playing the system

    Good luck

I think I need to hang on to a little bit more than that. Last months expected expenditures added up to £2500 totally out of the blue !

My car is playing up terribly and is 13 years old with 180,000 miles on the clock . We are desperatley trying to keep it going but I'm not sure whats aroudn the corner.

I will sleep on it for a few days and continue Squirreling (no pun intended !!) the cash away if I can.

Thankyou HH again for your invaluable advice. x
