Well Ive decided.....in for a penny in for a pound !!

I will let loose on everything that went wrong last week / weekend/ today and wait with baited breath for a response !

Just so you feel really sorry for me :rotfl:I will remind you that it all began Friday before last ,when car parts didnt arrive, the following day, as per the photo so kindly posted by Kerri, I turned a rather nasty shade of orange ( I prefer to call it Coral as thats the in colour right now apparently) on the Monday , the silly locum doctor refused my request for a repeat prescription and the same day car parts still didnt arrive. This brings us to Tuesday with the boiler and the car repairs and the £1000 bill . I think Wednesday went well, Thursday was the glass in the toe which brings us to Friday and my hospital appointment.

This was with the Pain Clinic who had discharged me December last year.I was there this time as a new patient. It started well, I got to actually see the my consultant the same guy as before, not the minion I was expecting. He recognised me and thankfully had all of my notes from previously. So that was good, as I had been told they would be filed after 6 weeks. The bad news was that in addition to the current back, nerve problems, he now thinks I have a problem with my hip. I wasnt expecting that one  I now need to wait for two appointments, the first will be a Diagnostic Test, Ive had a few of those before, where they keep you awake and under xray they shove needles in your joints. The basis, which If I have understood correctly, if you yelp it means theyve found the joints, nerves causing the problems but if you keep quiet those ones are ok. Once these have been done I will go back for the second appointment which depending on the findings they will then decide on treatment. Other problem is a waiting list of between 9 and 18 weeks. :(

So, returning from that I got the call from the school to say DD2 couldnt walk , everyone was stamping on her foot and she could feel something still in her toe. The docs though said they didnt want to see her until today , in the meantime continue with the "drawing"cream , but her foot itself was bruised and swollen from walking funny.

That evening was the leaky loo saga and ruined flooring story which you know and love so well !!

Oh and int he middle of that the two clients who should have paid us but didnt !! So no money coming in to add to the stress!

On Saturday , (Mr Pinot had driven home and arrived at 4am) to save him a job when he woke up I pulled up the remainder of the rotten and ruined carpet to discover the leak and worked its way further into the room and the bath panel was now rotten. As the carpet was pulled up the bath panel came away with it, so new panel needed as well !!

Trying deperately to still keep a manic grin on my face:D, I set about getting ready for the Afternoon Tea with my gorgeous niece, my sister, the girls and my mum. That was lovely, we had some great pink bubbles, far too much too eat and a wonderful afternoon. Only marred by the fact of a text from Mr Pinot to tell me, that the loo was still leaking and that his car had a puncture ! This was followed an hour or so later by another message to say that the garage had called to say that his air con wasnt fixed in the car as it needs a new filter at £130. I'm guessing plus labour although they will re gas free of charge as they made a mess of it last time. ! So the day although lovely was marred by more monetary revelations and just hassle in general.

So we arrive at Sunday. Mr Pinot has the day off, we are all at home together. I didnt sleep all night long on Saturday, due to silly nerve pain. I tried everything, I climbed into everyones bed to see if I could get comfy, the sofa, the armchairs, the floor and I even tried sleeping on the breakfast bar stools with a pillow on t e counter, but nothing would owrk. Therefore I was not the happiest Mrs Pinot in t the World yesterday. Whilst downstairs I heard lots of footsteps about 7am which was quite early for the girls, nobody came downstairs though so I assumed they had gone back to sleep. When I ventured upstairs later with cups of tea, I found both the girls fast asleep in our bed. Apparently a bird had woken them both about 7ish and they couldnt get back to sleep, hence sneaking into our bed. Anyway way to cut a very long story short, a bird had got into the eaves in t e Dormer Window in DD2's room and was stuck, frantically flying about and banging into the wall and chirping. It was really sad :(. We tried to explain to DD2 that there was nothing we could do. and we were unsure how it had managed to get in there, but as many of you will know she is a real animal /bird lover and as the day wore on there were no signs of the noise stopping and she got more and more upset. Eventually Mr Pinot said that he would cut a hole on the playroom wall, which is on the other side of the house to DD2s room (apparently he wants to run some cables for something or other in there anyway, but not just yet !) , so he would then crawl through the eaves to try and rescue the bird and bring it back. we explained to her that it may die of fright on seeing Mr Pinot or may have already hurt itself, but she said as long as she didnt need to look she was just happy that he wouldnt be trapped anymore. so......... a Mr Pinot size hole was cut in the playroom wall. Unfortunatley, what hadn't crossed our mind was it was stuffed with lagging and there was no way he could get through to the side where the bird was. So...........with a gaping hole in that room, ripped up carpet and a leaky loo, a punctured tyre in the car the only thing for it to stop said distraught daughter was to cut another hole to free the bird, but this time in her room. so, a thankfully smaller hole was cut and there was a little blackbird, no damage done to him at all ( just my house at this point). We opened the velux at the other end of the room and off he flew. He had made a very big mess inside the eaves though. We couldnt figure out how the bird had managed to get in though so Mr Pinot then climbed into the loft to find we have a lovely hole in the roof and roof lining which is where the birds have decided to make their nest. Therefore they are in the loft and had flown out of the nest and into the eaves. Not news we wanted to hear really. At this point, I had a very small angry paddy  and demanded we all go out and get away from the house. A trip to the garden centre was decided on and Asda for some food for a roast.

We grabbd the keys to my car ( not Mr Pinots ) still had a puncture. Guess whose car wouldnt start ?!! First thought was the starter motor, but then DD2 confessed she had nipped out late last night to get something out of the car and she may possibly have left the internal lights on and drained the batery !! At least she admitted it. So, the girls helped Mr Pinot push the car off of the drive, he then put the spare tyre on his car. We were hoping his damaged tyre may be repairable but on closer inspection absolutely not !! By the time this was done , it was 3.45. 15 mins before Sunday closing, so all we had time to do was make a mad dash to Asda to buy food for the roast. I ,by the time must admit was soooo angry that I think I would have killed anyone who got in my way !!

We came home, I started dinner and Mr Pinot and DD2 managed to jump start my car, so at least that was going for this morning. It was only when DD2 went to bed we realised we still had massive gaping holes in the walls. a job for another day Mr Pinot said, so I stuffed the hole in DD2 room with a big pillow, as I could see spiders crawling around, and she hates spiders. We then collapsed in a heap with a glass of vino, slightly shell shocked really.

Today didnt start well, Mr Pinot was working in London so was in Mankini bike riding mode. Off he went at 6am to cycle to the station, only to return sometime later having seen the train pull away as he arrived. So he rode home to get his car to drive to the next closest station in an effort to make it to work for 8am. Reminding him that he had to take my car, that was below the red ,as his car was having the windscreen fitted this morning, off he went.

DD1 , having got over her hormonal strop of the day before didnt get ready for school on time and missed her bus so had to be taken to school. DD2 had more exams and I didnt really want any morning stress, but unfortunately that backfired.

I then went off to see the Doctor, my real doctor ,to fill him in on last weeks events the Pain CLinic and organise more medicine. I had more bad reactions over the weekend to the combination I am on now, so they have all been changed around, so yet another prescription to get. I really must get this pre paid malarky sorted. When I got home Mr Pinot called, very very angry to say that the windscreen people werent coming after all. The Windscreen had been ordered but sent back to the depot, they didnt know why and wouldnow come on Wednesday ! needless to say Mr Pinot could after all have taken his car this morning leaving me mine which is easier for me to drive with the dodgy back. I then heard lots of noise upstairs in the playroom. Upon inspecting I found another baby bird had got through the Mr Pinot sized hole ( I had forgotten to bung it up ) and was flapping around like a maniac and pooing all over the white sofa and white blinds. I hate birds, the flappy wings freak me out, so I let out a scream and ran out of the room slamming the door behind me. I toyed with the idea of collecting DD2 from school to come to my resuce. Called Mr Pinot who refused come home from work and rescue me :o. Instead I knocked at the neighbours and she came and helped me out ! The day has just got better and better and better !!!
I have stuffed the hole with two poofs ( Piq, behave) as it was all I could find big enough !I am hoping there are no more birds going to get into the house now .

So........................I am now waiting infor the BT Infinity man to arrive. Something tells me with our track record at the moment he wont arrive ! :o

But on the plus side............... it looks like we may be able to claim the money for the boiler from last week back from the insurance company dependant on the excess, I need to check and decide if its worth doing and also hopefully the roof is covered, as long as the roofer doesnt decide it is down to bird damage. So I need to now find a roofer to come and inspect.

So there you have it !! A week in the life of Mr and Mrs Pinot !!!!

The only way is up !! :D xxxxx

Aww bless you, I really hope things get better soon and I have to say I laughed a lot at what you stuffed the whole with :D Our boiler has been losing pressure, I really need to sort out the insurance for it through British B*s or someone, just need to decide if I just want the boiler covered or the whole central heating. The boiler is apparently a cheap nasty one builders use so looks like we'll be saving for a new one.

I need to give the car a once over, my Dad said he'd do a mini service on it if I take it through to their house. I think it's MOT is due soon as well so I'll need to book it in for a proper service too.

    Busy busy.

Aw PG you poor thing, that is the week or so from hell. I'm sorry you had to go through all that, especially in pain. I really don't know how you manage to stay so cheerful.

I wish I could sort us all out and get us back on an even keel, easier said than done though.

Do you have medical insurance? I know some folk don't approve of private healthcare, but maybe they're not in the pain that you are.

I won't comment on the two poofs stuffed in a hole, only to say I hope they're not friends of mine.

    Oh Mrs P

I'm sorry you have had such a bad week, makes me feel guilty for my major strop earlier as BT didn't turn up again to put my new line in.

Apparently BT computer cancelled the order but didn't bother letting Orange know so no one told me. Not happy as I had to book a days leave.

Anyway all I can say is the only way is up and I really really hope things get better for you.... as we often say, Keep calm and breath

    Love

Oh my goodness, what an awful time of it you are having. If this was a storyline in one of the soaps we'd all be groaning with the out of control writers.

Big, big massive hugs and as you say, surely the only way is up now.

Lots of hugs and best wishes for a brighter tomorrow. Gx2 x

Wow, you've crammed a lot of disasters into one week haven't you? Sorry to hear all that bad news. I did smile though at what a family of softies you are, literally ripping your house apart to save a bird :). Good for you! I hope the insurance can help out - and I can't wait to hear what the loss adjustor says if he calls and sees a hole in your wall the same shape and size as Mr Pinot! It sounds like something from The Simpsons :D.

Hope this week is better for you x
