We had 2 hedgehogs last year, one we rescued. OH decided the other night it must be time for them to start coming out of hibernation and set up a small feeding coop. It has a plastic lid so he could see them.Duly put out food and was proud as punch when it was all eaten two nights on the trot.
last night I was in the garden and looked down to find one of my neighbours young cars merrily eating away at all the food :rotfl:
It was not perturbed at all by me shining a torch at it and kept on eating.
Would love to have chickens in a side area by the house but think the local cats would definitely get them and if not the cats we have quite a few foxes (in fact we rescued th hoglet last year from a cat and fox playing with it in our front garden:eek: you would not believe the noise!!!

Last year the Bear was accused of eating the local hedgehog food. Completely unrepentant... fairly sure he intends going on the evening raids very soon. He does have to deal with the embarrassment of not being allowed out after dark, with the further shame of being picked up in public if he doesn't come in as soon as he's called.

Have got to catch up with your diary:) You are certainly a busy woman mrs...you tire me out just reading the above. Hope you get the chance of a nice glass of red and put your feet up.

And the best bit................ lovingly addressed to me, two metal brackets apparently to stop the new lights in my car wobbling about, that Mr Pinot has so thoughtfully decided to buy for me ! Talk about Spoilt !!
Oops about the bad mummy club!
And :rotfl: about Mr Pinot's gift. You lucky thing! It reminded me of my birthday a few years ago which Mr Happy forgot. He came home from work and noticed the cards on top of the telly, so discreetly picked up his car keys and shuffled out. It was 8pm so I knew he was heading for Tesco, but Tesco DO sell nice choccies so I wasn't too concerned. He returned half an hour later with his offerings - a brand new, shiny, top-of-the-range potato masher with matching collander!!
Hope the weekend isn't too stressful xLBM Dec 2011. Aimed, but failed, to clear all unsecured debt by Feb 2019. Finally free of unsecured debt 21st May 21!

happy...Love it..kitchen implements for a birthday present...he knows how to treat a girl:rotfl:
NRA- Re hens..it's not the local cats..ours are free range bantams and even they are OK. They generally stick to our garden. But its dogs and foxes that are the risk. We have several foxes around here and if we ever forgot to shut them up at night ( as we did once and lost a beautiful barbu d'uccle bantam hen. I still feel guilty!) we would probably lose them. But cats are interested but just don't take them on. They are too big and generally one hen will notice a stalking cat and set up a hell of a racket.
Dogs would chase and kill them I guess.
Anyway I do recommend it. After all those of you with big gardens could have a run and then, unlike us, in our tiny garden, keep your grass!!MFiT-T4 Member No. 96 - 2022 is my MF goal

Your story reminded me of my 21st. My ex and I lived in a small flat and I was expecting DD. We didnt have a hoover and I used to sweep everywhere with a dustpan. SO my pressie was a hoover and I couldnt have been more thrilled, although my freinds at the time were appalled :rotfl:
They same the simple things in life:p

Hey NRA, I remember one Mother's Day receiving two breakfast trays from M&S. Now as trays goes they were lovely but not what I expected to receive particularly as I'd dropped some quite heavy hints about what I would like!! Poor Mr F realized his mistake when he saw the look on my face (I was trying my best to be pleased but it obviously didn't work) and confessed he'd asked his mum what he should buy me.
He promptly returned the trays and bought me the CD I wanted. :rotfl::rotfl:

My cockerel is a faverolle and apparently they don't do much crowing. It was a mistake, he should have been a she! I haven't the heart to return him as he is so sweet with his girls.
My birthday present from Mr Pooh just before we were married was a scrubbing brush. He thought it was funny. I didn't at the time.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527
