Vista Basic supplied with 512MB RAM and ACER still felt the need to bundle it with all kinds of extra software.

Closed can trim away most, if not all of their software to no ill effect.

it certainly feels to be quicker thankyou and quieter? Thaankyou so much for your patience, I know nothing about computers apart from how to switch them off and on, Thankyou, I will get a better one when when money allows as I dont know how I managed to fill up this with a few family pics .

You need to move more of the data on C: over to and then to Defragment the drive.
More RAM would also help.
Does anyone actually need the Google Toolbar and all of the rubbish that goes with it?

How would i move it over to D? and i use google to search not sure if of what i can get rid of and still use it ,sorry for the late reply.

google is your homepage, so you can still use it to search, but don't really need the toolbar/update software installed.

do you use lightscribe discs? if not, the lightscribe disc labelling service could be disabled using services.msc

Ok i have done the lightscribe thing hope ive done it right and all the google things thankyou. How would i move the C stuff into the D, and how would i know which are safe to move and not? Thankyou for your help so far,

download windirstat to find out what's using all the disk space, look for big files

If you haven't already, it might be a good idea to backup (but don't move) those pics on d to dvd or external hard disk, in case the disk fails someday.

lightscribe is a special type of disc that lets you etch the title on the top, the discs are relatively expensive compared to normal ones.
