and 3 months on the emails are getting nowhere!! they keep insisting that ''unfortunately the work is chargeable'' even though we never granted them a wayleave in the first place?? and they said if we damage their equipment they'll charge us the cost of repairing it. What should we do or what could we do legally please? we keep telling them we need to do maintenance work on our wall and can't carry it out cos the cable runs all along our property and we want them to remove it.
And they told us it will cost £200+!!

There seems to be some essential information missing here. Did you start a thread about this some weeks ago?

Is it your own phone line?0

If its not yours feel free to remove it and let them invoice you. They will then have to provide details of original permission etc being provided for installing 3rd party equipment on your wall.
However if its your own phone line then not much you can do.0 -
No its next door's.Is it your own phone line?
The previous thread all went quiet whilst OP was waiting for the Wayleaves Officer to visit.bengalknights wrote: »If its not yours feel free to remove it and let them invoice you. They will then have to provide details of original permission etc being provided for installing 3rd party equipment on your wall.

As per the last comment in the original thread, did you ever talk to openreach? This is the part of the BT business that installs and maintains the network. Ringing BT retail who just manage customer accounts will probably get nowhere. BT retail is essentially no different to say Talk Talk or Sky, they just sell service that run on the openreach network.
Also how obtrusive is this cable? How long did it take you to notice? Has it caused damage? Does it keep you awake at night?0 -

The next door flats has Sky put their satellite dish up on our wall. Wow that was an experience. We told them we were going to remove it or they could come and do it. They said they'd do it, and they patched up the drill holes, but my goodness, how could they ever have imagined that would be ok?? Absolutely tell them you are removing it from your property if they dont come and do it."There is no substitute for time."

Yes, basically they keep replying that it's chargeable and that's all - no other things said :mad:As per the last comment in the original thread, did you ever talk to openreach? I'm just so angry BT feels they have the right to attach things to other people's property then charge them for it - where is the law when you need it?!0 -
