The next door flats has Sky put their satellite dish up on our wall. Wow that was an experience. We told them we were going to remove it or they could come and do it. They said they'd do it, and they patched up the drill holes, but my goodness, how could they ever have imagined that would be ok?? Absolutely tell them you are removing it from your property if they dont come and do it.

if you had removed it would they had charged you do you think? the cable runs all along our wall and they even attached a black box thing to our wall to connect it to the line -it's for our neighbour

Yes, basically they keep replying that it's chargeable and that's all - no other things said

I'm just so angry BT feels they have the right to attach things to other people's property then charge them for it - where is the law when you need it?!

This is a civil matter. They can charge you but you can defend the charge in court. Is your property a freehold property?
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

My guess is that the OP didn't get the answers he was looking for from August when he was expecting a visit from Wayleaves. So its come back here in a different part of the forum to waste more time. Sorry if that sounds nasty but OP won't answer the key question hanging over from the last thread. Not to do so and expect sensible advice is, frankly, absurd.

    Cheers

Having read the other thread, how did it take you possibly a year to notice cables and a black box had been added to your property?

Why don't you charge them a monthly fee for the use of your land/property?

If it was me, I'd just rip it off, then charge them for any repairs that I needed to do to my property. Of course, given the way this country is, I'd probably get 10 years in prison for that - I'd be better off drink driving and running a child over!!! :money:

It's taken you a year or so to notice BT have attached a bit of phone line to your property using a few tiny cable clips.

Let me guess. Retired, living on own, not much else to do, looking for a bit of excitement?

How can they charge you when you have no contract with them ?
    Rubbish, it is your property.
I would whack the ball back over the net and state that you will employ a contractor who has the correct working at heights certification to remove the cable and a charge will be made to BT for the cost, as this is your property, the weight of the law is on your side.

they said it was in fact a BT cable and came up with some excuse like ''it was there 25 years ago and is a dropwire etc and isnt actually used any more'' which were blatantly lies and they said to remove it they would have to charge even though they KNOW no wayleave has been established

actually no, it's a business property and I'm not retired and don't have a lot of free time like you to post non-constructive comments so I wasn't going to give a full examination of my property every time I arrive
