OP I see so many of your posts where you bemoan the fact that you don't have a job. Perhaps what you need to do is approach someone, whether it be an employment consultant, someone at the JobCentre, or a close friend. There will be a reason why you aren't getting a job in London, and I'm afraid it will be down to you - not the Government, pregnant women, other people or employment agencies.

Don't take this the wrong way, but perhaps you dress very old fashioned, or you use too much perfume, or not enough deodorant (sorry, but it can be a big factor). So you need that person to be TOTALLY honest with you. Then take it on the chin and do something about it!

And in the meantime.. as others have said... please try to be more positive about it!!
  • Two people on this thread have acknowledged that they're recruiters/consultants for the sorts of roles you might be suitable for. Have you contacted either by PM? I'm also unemployed and have been for some time and am finding it very difficult to find anything as well and I've half-thought of contacting them myself. Mind you, after all the negativity you've displayed on here I think you might burned that bridge for yourself. But I wish you the best if luck because I do know just how hard the job-searching is and how difficult it is to keep a positive attitude about it all.

LOL I dress very old fashioned? I never knew I was going for jobs as a model. And NO I do not dress very old fashioned or I wouldn't have got my last job.

Maybe it's cause I am just old and ugly? Can't do much about that, can I?

And I don't stink!! I wouldn't even leave the house if I had a hair out of place and take that as a real insult, but thanks for the advice - I will email my old boss and ask his opinion!

I think the point was that there maybe reasons that you cannot see which are preventing you getting a job, not that you do smell or have fashion issues.

Why wouldn't you contact someone who could potentially offer you work? They would give you detail of their company who you could verify before going any further. It's no different to replying to an advertisement in a paper or down the job centre. You do know that anyone can register a vacancy with the JC or an agency?

I am sure I didn't see anyone advertising on here as I thought that was against the rules

I'm trying to gauge whether you are deliberately obstructive or just not reading any replies properly. Once again, you are misrepresenting what's been written.

Good luck finding a job. I'm sure you have the right skills and experience for something.

So what if they only want employed people it may create a job vacancy somewhere else, find out where they are.

Agencies prefer it because it generates more business and in these time they will do anything to create business.

I think you also need to improve your networking what about all the people you have worked with in the past get intouch with them.

Oh dear, hear we go again. People try to help LadyMissA, or even sympathise, and it all turns into a slanging match about how awful we are. How many threads does this have to happen to before we learn? I for one have got it. You want neither sympathy nor advice - you want to be right. Right no matter what. I have more sensible conversations with my 4 year old nephew than can be held with you. I'm out.
