No but it is a store in the north east, never had a problem with anyone else just this one person, she would do anything for you not to get the deal. Think I am going to contact boots because they need to make the terms and conditions clearer and make sure all staff are going to follow the same rules as some staff seem to make up their own rules.
Were you in Durham Market Place store by any chance? Just this sounds like some of the staff I've experienced in there - some of them are awkward and unhelpful. There are a couple of decent ones but they are the minority.

Definitely get in touch with them. The area manager will not be happy about it.

got my boots meal deal this time as I went in earlier - I was amazed at the number of people queueing for the meal deal around 12.30pm - now I see why they run out so fast

they had run out of the latest boots treat though

personally I think trying to show the code on an ipad is just inviting trouble - you are bound to get a jobsworth type sooner or later

boots seem to be stricter than other retailers regarding the o2 deals

the free 2L screenwash at halfords is also back

edit : no caffe nero drink today :(

I do kind-of get it from Boots point of view - an iPad must've looked just wrong, and of course it isn't running O2 at all (I presume she was using free wifi? to obtain the code).

How old is her phone to not have any internet, probably an idea to upgrade her to a cheap smartphone (say the Vodafone Smart First).

I appreciate what you say that it's her cousins phone, but Boots aren't meant to be tech wizards, they expect O2 Priority to be on phones as that's what the other 99.9% use.
I didn't do it, nobody saw me do it, you can't prove a thing! ;)

    I had a similar problem.

When in boots using a HTC, the sa said I need to see you are with O2, I was like what? I'm with the post office, so I came out of the app. she saw the O2 app sign and said thats fine and gave me my lunch. even though she could see the timer ticking.

It's people taking the pee with these offers that stops us genuine people being able to get them

This is getting interesting. I wonder if Boots (and maybe others) are starting to use this as a means of weeding out those using the app without actually using O2?

Possibly - but we don't know that. Looking for the O2 symbol is a new one.
