Still struggling to see what Boots are getting out of this at all - unless people are buying other stuff whilst in there.
Maybe they're just trying to create a bit of goodwill to counter all the negativity caused by their aggressive avoidance of UK tax via Switzerland. :rotfl:
Maybe 02 pay Boots a certain amount per code generated. If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550 -

oh right - didnt know that
can I ask how you know that exactly ? - I didnt realise that cash tills were that sophisticated - do they just reject the code ?
obviously if you go in late some other people might have turned up with a smartphone with 'zero codes left' but if that were the only indication I couldnt see them refusing if you have a code & a timer counting down - unless the code is rejected at the till of course
If I get chance Im going to try sometime anyway to see what happens
Im only talking about using the 'trick' once here - not multiple times as some people have mentioned which is a bit greedy0 -

Talking to staff at local store apparently a message is sent to the manager.
Over a two week period there were 15000 fraud codes used. Which is why they have changed it.If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550 -

What is a fraud code?
I was WHsmith once, the code ran out as I was tapping it in at self service, a lady came and said I couldn't have it and would need to pay full price.
So you do need to go early it doesn't matter if you still have a code and timer they don't care. Once it runs out that's it.

i assume they are referring to someone who has used the same code more than once possibly using the timer restart 'trick' or maybe with a screenshot
obviously this circumvents the limit on the number of codes given out
however as far as I can see as long as you only use the code once even with the timer restart trick I cant see that being 'fraud' at all as you are just using a valid code from the bucket of codes given out - it only becomes this so called 'fraud' if you use it more than once
( as there is only one boots near me I dont even have the temptation of trying to be greedy )
15000 'fraud' codes in 2 weeks seems unlikely to me - also they cant stop it happening unless they fix the timer restart bug - just changing to a 2 minute timer is completely irrelevant as you can still reset it0 -

Fraud codes are codes used more than once. So they had more go through till than actually got generated by o2If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550
