Possibly - but we don't know that. Looking for the O2 symbol is a new one.
I have an O2 payg phone (not a smart phone so it doesn't have apps on it). I have an ipod touch and have the O2 app on that as I am entitled to as an O2 customer. However as I need free wifi to get the ipod touch to work I cannot always get the deals. I find that when I try to connect to wifi in Boots it never works and I have to put my meal deal back in the fridge. I've now given up trying.
QUESTION - if I buy a cheap smartphone so that I can access the app - how much does it usually cost when you access the internet if you are on O2 payg?0 -

Just a thought, because I always have the same problem connecting to the Boots wifi. It will connect - but only if you go through the initial Boots Wifi login screen. Every time.0 -

If that was to me, I do have a sim card, which I top up, but use post office because they are cheap.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

Look at 02's tariff page - like so many providers, it now seems to be 'bundles only' rather than a rolling credit to be used over a period of time.
You can get the 'big talker' tariff which includes free texts and calls to other O2 customers and a small amount of data for £15, this suits me as all my family are on O2 and then when I've accrued quiet a bit of credit I buy bundles with it.0 -

That's the tariff I'm on. But guess who forget to top up couple of days ago. Have used £15 of my credit without realising.
The tariff is good because if you can't afford to top up you can leave it and top up when you can and it will activate the "big talker" when you do. Or you can pay just £10 for O2 texts (3000) and 50MB data.
I found this has been the best tariff for me in the years I have been with O2 as it is surprising how many people you ring/text that are on same network and also found the credit I had built up useful when I went abroad to ring home.
You can't lose if you also still get the 10% in top ups back and with O2 priority benefits the icing on the cake.0 -

I think it is a £1 a day but can't remember how much data you get for the day. I know my daughter has done this before as it has been worth it to get Boots, WHS and caf! nero all on the same day. And some of the bigger offers like the free calendars and diary's last year. HTHs0 -

How old is her phone to not have any internet, probably an idea to upgrade her to a cheap smartphone (say the Vodafone Smart First).
I appreciate what you say that it's her cousins phone, but Boots aren't meant to be tech wizards, they expect O2 Priority to be on phones as that's what the other 99.9% use.
They actually still let my nana have hers that was from the Ipad and yes she was using wifi, they just said next time she would have to bring her phone to prove she was on O2, she has been using her Ipad to get it most of the time the offer has been running and no one has ever said anything and she has used it for a couple years to get other deals in places like Whsmith. If it was a rule that you couldn't use them that would be fine just when she has used it fine before and now all of a sudden they started saying you need to prove your on O2.
She might even be able to get internet on her phone now i will have to look into it, im not sure how other phones like android work though as the only smartphone i've ever had is an iphone.
My mam was using her Iphone to get my cousins and like i said she herself wasnt on O2 that is why i said i couldnt really say anything about it, but again they had never checked before that she was on O2.
The assistant had already checked the meal deal code on my mams phone (made sure timer was going etc...) and had put it through on the till then my mam went to get the offer up for the free drink and it is then she saw she wasnt on O2 and then tried to say that the code she had given her did not actually work on the till and i asked why the till was saying £1 and she told me she had overrode the till, which as far as i can tell was a complete lie as all they seem to do on the till is press something to say you have an O2 code, she was acting like the code was not genuine because she wasnt connected to an o2 network.0 -
The Boots Meal deal has changed times. It is now 10-2 but is still limited in number. Apparently last week they had all gone by 1:30.If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550
