  • It's GT85 free from Halfords, I think it is a bicycle oil
    travelover
  • I got my free colouring pencils and Collins Dictionary yesterday - thank you to the OP who alerted me to this freebie as I hadn't checked my O2 app so was unaware of the offer ;-)

Take great care here - WD40 is regarded by most people as a general purpose oil, but the WD stands for water displacement, and that's essentially what it is. There are all sorts of things you really shouldn't use it for - some of them quite surprising (like bicycle chains and hinges):

If you read the whole thing, you can use it as a lubricant, although it isn't a true lubricant as there isn't much oil left once the volatile stuff has evaporated (15%). It helps loosen things that are rusted, then you should use an actual lubricant/oil afterwards. According to info posted from the link anyway.

Oh OK- Thanks for the correction, am not near a Halfords so wasn't making a b-line myself for the stuff, but it looks like a decent useful product if I am able to get to one- I never knew all that about WD40! I'd been using it for everything with great success!:o Ah well, I've not managed to break/damage/ruin anything with it in the past 15 years (and that's going some for me!) but I think I'll try to think twice now!

Just a non-related-to-the-O2-offer question (sorry to hijack) what on Earth do you use on things like joins and chains and so on if you don't use WD40? This was how it was sold to me way back when I first used it by the DIY people.

£10 east coast train voucher on O2 only 10,000 available

You need to go through o2 priority to get a code but here are the details https://rewards.eastcoast.co.uk/customerportal/promo_o2.aspx?utm_source=43510&utm_medium=Affiliates&utm_campaign=text

From memory I think you can book tickets for any trainline on east coast.
Recently married and loving it x

Just got a code forEastCoast - I'm Midlands based - but pretty sure you can book nationally with East Coast and use any train service. I'm going to London Saturday so £10 off would be very good - just need to carefully read the small print and how tickets are delivered as my printers broken at the moment and not sure London Midland ticket machines will print East Coast tickets!

From looking at the website and adding tickets to the basket it does appear you can buy online and its offering ticket machine printing at my local stations - seems very good and flexible considering its a rail company in a different art of the country.

  • You have to use a set booking link and it looks like it has to be on an east coast train
