I can't believe that supermarkets pay different prices for fuel at petrol stations less than 20 miles apart so how can they justify charging up to 6p a litre more at one station over another 20 miles away ?0

Its local pricing basically unless the competition is on the door step ,they will charge what ever the locals will stump up for . That's why milk costs more from a village shop when its the only place aboutI can't believe that supermarkets pay different prices for fuel at petrol stations less than 20 miles apart so how can they justify charging up to 6p a litre more at one station over another 20 miles away ?0 -

its not,
diesel in Feb was 3-4p higher than petrol not 8-9. Retailers are making a big song and dance about cutting petrol prices and increasing or stagnating diesel prices to cover the reduced profits.
either way when the 6p increase hits in January (along with the customary 'increase in fuel cost' jump) we will all be screwed.Insert smart witty comment here0 -
There is a Tesco near me with unleaded at £1.30 - there is also a BP directly opposite with unleaded at £1.35! You'd think that everyone would just use the Tesco but the BP is always busy too.
Also how up to date is petrolprices.com because according to them my local Asda has petrol at £1.30 not £1.28.0 -

Just had a look. It's at least a week out of date in about 50% of the petrol stations in my area."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
Petrolprices.com is more accurate but can still have the odd hiccup.
Not to be trusted 100%
If your a petrol station it makes sense to slightly delay the info that your prices have gone up.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
