Morning everyone
Very wet underfoot here this morning, but the rain seems to have stopped - good job really as it started early evening last night and has been continous until about half hour ago! DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock.
Dinner didn't go as well as planned last night, made chicken, gammon and mushroom pasta, put it into the oven to brown and when I dished it up all the sauce had gone - think it may have been a) didn't make enough sauce but there was plenty when I put it into the baking dish before putting it in the oven and b) should have just browned it off under the grill for a few minutes - if anyone can give me any suggestions I'd be grateful. Dinner tonight will be much easier, chicken kiev, chips and beans for the menfolk and fish, jacket potato for me.
Was really productive yesterday - was really shattered last night, got the housework done, washing, drying and ironing (as much as I could as had to use TD - so will continue with that today), made a loaf of HM bread. Today I will be going to the bank, buy b'day card, collect order from engravers, food shopping, then home to crack on with what's left of ironing, change the beds, then do some cooking/baking. Haven't decided what I'm going to cook yet, but will be along the lines of twinks, choc brownies, possibly victoria sponge and mince pies/maids of honour - think that will keep the menfolk happy/quiet!
Have a good Friday.
Have a great day everyone, hugs to those that need/want them, take care.

Morning All,
Thankyou for your messages re my fall. I have ben given strict instructions to not go up the ladder today:cool:
Instead I will pop out the bank and to the local town and have a quick mooch around the charity shops. I am on a mission to find a new top for the 70th birthday we have at the end of the month. I already have black trousers and boots and really dont want to spend a fortune in a real shop:D
Had some real good luck with vouchers yesterday. Firstly did my Sainsbob shopping last night. I had a £6 off voucher from last week and used a gift card with £40 on (wasn't sure what was on it if anything) so shopping should have been £68 and only cost me £22:j it's a real help this week.
Then checked out my Tesco account and had £33 in vouchers. We have been desperate for new pans and found a set reduced from £60 to £39 so they cost me £6:j I am so excited and can pick them up from the local store on Saturday afternoon:T I know how sad am I but my old pans are so rubbish and I love cooking with nice things.
Anyway hugs and good wishes for those in need, nmlc slow down, it tired me out reading your post, Farmers Wife I was thinking exactly the same as Redruby:DStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Morning all,
Didn't clear my list of things to do y/day as DGD kept me busy with playdoh and playing shops and doing floor puzles so must speed up today.I had an x-ray on 10th Oct after my fall down the stairs, a Dr from the hosp phoned at 6.30 last night to tell me she had just seen them and that there is a black spot on my kidney, she said she was faxing them to my GP straight away and I have to make an app with him asap as she wants me to have ann ultrasound scan. Scared, worried ? you bet.
My DMum phoned to say that she and OH wont be down for the w/end as she is so poorly. She's 82 and has heart probs.
I did a long post but good news for you I lost it. So this is a shortened version.
MINT a warm welcome to you. :hello:

Morning everyone
It was lovely and misty this morning, a lovely November morning. Yep I know I am sad
H is back off work as he found sitting on a chair waaaaay too uncomfortable so I kinda feel I am a fish out of water as he's home :rotfl: He's interupting my well oiled routine:rotfl:
No idea what's for tea, haven't thought that far ahead. Erm OS......I'll be making a loaf does that count?! Not really sure I can count putting the washing machine on as OS since nearly everyone does that
Molly - there are rules and regs about the number of hours you are legally obliged to have inbetween shifts. He is entitled to 11 hours between shifts and 11.30pm to 7am is NOT enough. Here is a link from DirectGov.
Redruby - :T:T on your shopping bonus.
Hugs and spoons all round. Have a good day OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Morning everyone.
It's raining here and hasn't really let up since last night. The air looks damp! Still, it's a good day to get things done. So far I have inventoried the freezer, chest freezer and storecupboards, and only have the baking cupboard to do - then I'll have a full picture of where I stand and what I can cook with it. Last night was a scramble to make tea as I'd forgotten to take some meat out, but a tin of hotdog sausages chopped up and mixed with bacon, chorizo, onion, veg & pasta with a tomato sauce made a lovely meal with DH asking for seconds. Now I have a full list of things I can use for meals and am getting my creative vibe on but...
...I have run out of tinned tomatoes! Gasp!
I have quite a few ready meals already made so that's good. Working out what else I can make will take a while. First things first will be a batch of gnocchi with some leftover mash I've got. Yum!
Not sure what else the rest of the day holds yet, but I don't fancy going to the fireworks. Steak Pie & Mash for tea.
Have a good day everyone (((hugs))) to those in need.
