Fakes being sold by ebay seller

cheepskate, have you actually contacted the seller vefore you came on here branding him as a fraudster?0
-
yes i have, but dont know why that would make any difference to a non branded item being sold (pics and text) as a branded one still intentionally defrauding the buyer. thus it would be fraud, would it not0
-
Cheapskate, fraud is a criminal offence is it not, THUS, should be reported to the police.... OR get a life, speak to the seller and request a refund, or if you're ore of a faceless keyboard warrior just open a SNAD claim THUS avoiding the need to contact the seller and be fair0

I bought a science museum product from argos and the science museum was not mentioned on the box or product.
You have a right to return it though - if your not happy.0 -

but this one does.
as for get a life , you wanna send me the return postage if its not such a big deal, obviously you agree with people mis representing on ebay knowing that you win as the return postage stops people sending things back. If item is mis descibed return postage should be the sellers responsibility
obviously there are a lot of ebay sellers with no scrupples on here tonight.0 -
To be fair, it has been mis described by the seller if what the buyer is saying is true. The photo shows the item as branded with "Science Museum". The description states:
Genuine Seller From The UK Offers Genuine Science Museum ATM Multi Function Savings Bank at a great Price and is also super Xmas present for your loved one. This product is packed in its original package.
OP - I think you'll need to ask to return it and ask them to cover the return p&p. If they say no to covering the costs, then you can just leave neg feedback. Nothing else can be done.
It has been mis described, but is not necessary a fake. There is a difference.0 -
If you look on Amazon, there are several of these ATMs. Some have the Science Museum logo on them and others don't, but I suspect that they all come from the same manufacturer. So I guess that your Ebay seller may have been selling Science Museum badged items in the past and has carried on the same listing, but the latest stock he got in were the unbadged items.
I'm willing to bet that, if you did return it for a refund and then bought a Science Museum version, the build quality would be identical.
Can I also add that, just because something is being sold as a Science Museum item, doesn't mean that it's going to be of a high quality, as a lot of the Science Museum badged items I've seen could easily be described as cheap and nasty.0 -

all i can see this seller having are JML products so he will most likely just buy overrun items.
how this works
a company like JML will contact a manufacturer to say i want 10000 magic door mats
to allow for damages and seconds the manufacturer will produce 11000 magic door mats
after they have finsished they finf the have a perfect 10000 so they send these to JML but now the manufacturer has 1000 of these branded items left
they will then sell these at a reduced cost to general wholesalers so any retailer can purchase these.
i can now go to my wholesaler where i get my toys from and purchase asda and tesco branded items legally.
non of these are fake they are as genuine as in the store, some may be seconds but deff not fake.0 -
Mell i understa you are saying and know that the banks are cheap, and qualitity is probably gumph , but this was bought for a present and wether we like it or not, branded items do command more kudos (is that the right word.). the box on this one looks really cheap and nasty.
At the end of the day i bought something , knowing exactly what i was getting, only to be sold something different.
I have to trust the seller , and may end up out of pocket0 -

now you just admit its cheap and nasty. well that does not make it a fake
you could always just stick it back on ebay yourself.0
