HI
WHAT is ebay going to do. bought item from this seller --
bought item , item description gives brand name, picture has brand name but when it arrives it is cheap type of same item.
Now i know seller is either going to say tuff, or send it back refund. item is heavy and i will have to pay postage,
How does ebay look at this postaqe aqs surely i should not need to pay return postage on item that basically a fake /just a copy of real item.
any views appriciATED

Looks a reputable seller, what was the item?0

He's got remarkably good feedback for someone selling fakes. However, if you are sure you have a fake product then open a claim through ebay (not paypal in this instance) claiming item is faked. Ebay often do no fault refunds and just ask for the item to be destroyed.
However- talk to your seller first as ebay will not even consider a claim until you have tried to resolve this.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Have you actually approached the seller to see what they say?
You can raise either a Paypal or eBay case if you think they are fake although one of them is better than the other as it requires the seller to prove authenticity - I'm not sure which one but I'm sure someone will be able to tell you shortly.
If you are certain you have evidence that the item is fake then contact Trading Standards. You may need to contact the office that is local to the seller though.0 -
hi it is the science museum atm. the pic is not item i goit, looks like it but no sceience musuem on edge and box is not science museum but cheap atm box0

Oh come on get real, I am always normally on the side of the buyer when it comes to fakes, but you really don't think this is fake do you? It's cheap tat, buyers remorse springs to mind here.0

why buyers remorse. i bought it as description and picture said science museum bank if i wanted cheap tat, i could have got it a lot cheaper0

This is unlikely to be a copyrighted product - its more likely just a product that is sold all over the place and the Science Museum have some made up with their own logo and packaging. You will probably find the same factory makes them in an unbranded version (which you received) and maybe adds logos for other companies too.
This is not really a fake item, you have really just received an item that is not as described so you need to open a SNAD case on Paypal, which is fair enough - although you will have to pay the return postage unfortunately.
I'm afraid though that I agree with bris in that this is a cheap/tacky item anyway - I am pretty certain that the sceince museum verison will still be as cheap and tacky, just with a science museum badge stuck on it!0 -
thus he should sell it as a unbranded tacky item then, . he sells it as a science museum to make extra money on it, thus defrauding people0
