    eta - and the tesco vouchers which are mainly blue are printing out pink.


    This is the one dissadvantage with epson printers, the print head is part of the printer and if it dries out it can be a bit of a pain to start off again, if you use your printer regularly no problems.

    HP & Lexmark the printhead is part of the cartridge, but this is noticable in the price of the replacements.

    There is a utility called 'SSC Service Utility for Epson Printers' that replaces a large part of the Epson drivers and allows cleaning of individual heads (as opposed to Epson's 'all or nothing' approach). It may also bypass the chip detection system.
    If you do a lot of printing, buy a Continuous Ink Feed System, they are dirt-cheap to run and you only need to replace an external bottle.
