Epson printer ink

i get my epson compatibles from inkpower via ebay, work a treat with my sx200 printer.
That's interesting Andy as I have an SX200 that recently stopped recognizing compatible ones that I have used for a couple of years at least. It's a think branded cartridge. Googling shows other people having troubles now with this brand. I then tried a Jettec one with the same result. I now have a genuine Epson cyan in the printer which works fine. What are your cartridges branded as? I must get round to trying the others again now it is working again.0 -
You can download software to trick those rubbish printers to obey. I had enough of my ailing epson last year and gave her a good bye kick to the knackers yard. I mean, they drink up ink quickly and worse of all when a cart flashes up empty its not really empty.
HP printers all the way, they are rock solid and reliably quick as well as cheap. The harder one works the luckier one gets!0 -
Don't give up! I found this on a web site some time ago, give it a try.
To get rid of messages saying "It has been detected that you are not using genuine Epson ink".Try this :-
Start/settings/printers & faxes (right click) Epson printer/properties/printing preferences/maintenance/speed & progress. Mark "Disable EPSON Status Monitor".
I have used non Epson carts as the originals are obscenely expensive. I use at the moment compats from https://www.inkfactory.com and so far have had NO trouble. I've used others in the past and ditto.
On another tack - look at the web sites for compatible cartridges and you'll find hundreds of different printers. Epson etc, get 3rd world country's to make printers (my current printer is made in Viet Nam!) for pennies.
The 'chip' is that gold coloured 5mm square bit on the edge of the cartridge. It ain't for our benefit, it's so the Epson decided number of prints have been made the printer flashes up "Cartridge empty, buy more"
There's also a good firm in Dundee, Can't remember the web site, put Dundee and Printer cartridges in a search engine and up it'll come, hopefully.

Well, I got a whole new set from foxyinks (as recommended early on) and its still not working grrrrr. However, I'm not getting a message saying not recognised anymore, the printing is pink lol.
Hadrian - not really sure what that will achieve.
Thanks to all who've taken the time to help :T
oops forgot to say - it's an Epson SX2150 -

Sorry for the delay in responding, found my cartridges, came in a grey bag, all packaged separately in white plain carboard, and inside that a airless pack, and the cartridges have no make printed on them, just a single sticker showing what colour on the spine.
they where being sold as chipped version 6 or 7.
Never had any trouble with any of the cartridges, bought from ink-power http://stores.ebay.co.uk/INK-POWER?_rdc=1
they've come down in price 14 cartridges for £7.99 including p&p.
they used to quote the chip version seems they've stopped posting that. and the amount in ml. used to be 18ml per cartridge.0 -
What does printing a nozzle check show
It shows some letters and numbers at the top and then some different coloured lines, vertical and sloping.
It seems now that black prints okay, I had been trying to print an asda voucher, so mostly green and that comes out yellow
eta - and the tesco vouchers which are mainly blue are printing out pink.0 -
You can see if printing this improves things
http://www.inkjetcartridges.com/print-4-colors.html
Does the nozzle check suggest head cleaning? If yes, I would not do that more than twice
Another option is to use a fluid to unblock the nozzles, if the above does not work I will look for the thread which has a link to the fluid0 -
We have an Epson printer and always use the compatible ones from Cartridge World - cheaper and containing more ink!
It may be that you just won't be able to use the ones you've bought and have to put it down to experience
At least you now have lots of recommendations ...0 -

That's a great page. Where the picture showed Blue-Pink-Yellow-Black my printed page was Pink-Pink-Yellow-Black.
At least it shows it's the blue cartridge that's faulty.
Nozzle check never suggested head cleaning but I did it anyway but there was no change.
Thanks for your help.0
